after a long time I am happy, I was asking folks here about Robocop and almost bought it, so glad for that. And while I am not a totally digimon fan, I heard good thinks about this jrpg. finally a good month for me.
dont really think this is a system seller, but it looks promising for the future of the Pro. I was looking forward it but the price put me aside (the money went for upgrading my PC), but glad to hear Sony is working with third parties on getting the most of the Pro.
@B0udoir from what I read I thought that the issue with Dragons Dogma 2 was mostly processor, and that MHW had a similar issue. My PC is a Ryzen 9800X3D and a RTX5080 (which will arrive in a week), so I was deciding in between PS5 and steam. will look a bit more into performance, I enjoy more playing these type of games on the couch but if the performance is way better on PC i think I will go Steam with this one.
a bit of offtopic: people who are playing MHW on base PS5, is the performance still average as on release? if I remember correctly performance mode tended to not achieve locked 60fps and even when it reached, the graphics were not that good? I am thinking of getting the game in a month or less but not sure if Steam or PS5 so any feedback would be appreciated.
Did i read it correctly? A non-binary character in feudal Japan? That sounds… interesting. I am curious about the sales of this game, I have all AC games upto Valhalla (buying Mirage soon), but I am not the target audience of this one so I will pass. But I would like more AC games (i may be on the minority that actually likes Ubisoft open world games) so lets see if this one sales well.
love playing on handhelds (have multiple nintendo and sony consoles) and would love to have a Sony handheld, but without the "stream only". Maybe if the rumored Xbox handheld comes out later this year and is it successful (to a certain degree), Sony gets motivated to release a proper handheld of their own (a steam deck-like, able to download and play your PS4 and PS5 library at a reduced resolution, would be perfect).
@heavyartillery56 i honestly doubt, from what I talked with a friend who is a bigger fan than me (has a custodes and salamanders armies) the missing primarchs and their legions might stay as that forever. There are a lot of hints about the primarchs in many books but nothing concrete. Live reading fan theories about those.
Just got Space Marine 1, want to finish it first, but being a huge fan of W40K lore (read all HH novels) I am happy this series is getting more game(s).
never played advance wars or a clone of those games, looked interesting enough for me to get the switch remaster for both advance wars games just to drop it in the last mission of the first game. it got too "samey" for me. that lead to drop wargroove from my wishlist.
Folks hope you continue with this format, some good picks that weren't yet in my wishlist. Looking forward to find these type of articles for most (if not all) sales
anybody that played both college football 25 and madden 25 that could recommend which to pick (if you can only choose one)? I am into American football, follow games from time to time, and got Madden 22 but didnt play yet. Not yet into US college football, but know some of the teams and that the stadiums and fans are great.
I ejnoyed Far Cry primal, 5 and its sequel. I might be one of the few who actually like ubisoft-style open worlds. But all was SP, not really interested into MP-only farcry.
never played these games (was a WoW player for too much time), but these are the type of games I know I will enjoy. Love the possibility of recruiting plenty of heroes, that is an added bonus; however, too many games right now so I will wait for a discount.
Edit: does it have two platinums or one? any estimations for how long till platinum?
I still have the impression this gen has not even properly started yet, with all cross-gen games. Actual gen only games are not that many and those are mostly poorly optimized on start. If the next gen comes earlier, then game developers will be even more lazy on optimizing games... lets see how it goes.
I appreciate these type of articles, I buy 95% of my games on sale and it is good to know of games out of my wishlist. Btw: anybody that played Robocop, how is the control on gamepad? From the gameplay looks more like a keyboard and mouse game (at least for aiming).
it seems the performance on console is similar to Dragons Dogma 2, which is still not great after a longer time. I guess I will get it on Steam in spring, when I plan to upgrade my rig.
@AgentGuapo got the platinum for immortals, fun gameplay, story was meh but didnt mind it (but I am one of the few that kinda still likes ubisoft style open world games), as you said for that price it is a good deal.
@Slideaway1983 thank you, mate, that was a good description. and 50 hours looks like a fine time for a platinum. @Odium it could be that it is just not the genre for you after all, however, it could be that musou games with a bit more of a "story" could be better for you? hard to tell, I played a lot of them, specially I enjoyed the latest samurai warriors, both hyrule warriors, the last fire emblem warriors (just got the first which I will play soon) and (as a one piece fan) Pirate warriors 3 and 4. I would say that hyrule warriors age of calamity had a great story, but maybe you might need to be familiar with Breath of the Wild before playing that one.
@Odium warrior games are not for everybody, i would even say that they are for a very small audience of gamers. but I do believe that those who like this šgenre (like myself) play most if not all of the games. regarding this game, I went through a lot of Steam reviews and I will wait for a discount. Still undecided in what platform should I pick it. Any info on how long to platinum?
Stellar Blade was my personal GotY, love it and the road to Platinum was less grindy than expected. Looking forward their next game, either a sequel or another game in the same style.
Well an RPG with classic turn based combat, nice graphics and interesting looking chars, understandable that the demand is high (these days classic turn based combat is mostly a rarity would say). I am also looking very forward for this release.
Both will coexists and many people will buy both ( I have a switch and a ps4 and ps5 and will get a switch2). They will compete on gamers time and imho in casual players attention. As for comparing graphics… comparing a switch and ps graphics performance is like comparing a ps and gaming pc performance: both comparisons are irrelevant.
I think I will never expect musou games to be “critically acclaimed”, since I believe they are “too niche” for most people. I would say most musou fans will add +1/+2 to most reviews and will be happy with that. You either love musou games (minority of gamers) or you find the gameplay boring (mostly due to repetition)
As a huge musou fan this reads for me as a 9/10. Repetition is a part of this genre so it is not a con for me. Looking forward to this very much but I have so many good games that I will wait a bit. @ShogunRok any estimation about the time for the Platinum?
After getting the Platinum for Stellar Blade I finally started Hogwarts Legacy. Not too much time yet (just got to the dorm after the sorting ceremony) but so far I like it, going for this Platinum as well.
I also thought that the DLCs will be free, I will not get this game (have all assassin’s creed games but valhalla) but I hope for the ones that will that they will not be charged for the DLCs.
@Shepherd_Tallon i will definetily recommend to buy a paper version of Berserk. The art is too good to read only digital (as many other mangas). I might be interested but it will totally depend on the content. Start with all Shonen Jump old and ongoing and add classics, lets see how it goes.
Ive been watching anime since i was a kid (end of the 80s), and seeing the results of anime/manga against the western counterparts (eg demon slayer outselling us comic books in a specific year) tells why Sony is pushing for that. As mentioned before I am also hoping that Crunchyroll will become part of PS+ some day.
I liked Zero Dawn gameplay, I loved Forbidden West gameplay, I thought both games had one of the worst scripts in gaming ever (skipped the later half of the games story). I am curious how a movie will translate from game, hope it will not be as bad as most movies based on games.
If the leaks are true, nvidia will officially reveal the rtx5000 series, hoping with a release date. Investing the money intended for the ps5pro into a new gaming pc and kinda hoping the new cards will be available before spring.
Got Stellar Blade this Thursday, put so far 12 hours and can say that it is my personal game of the year. Love all that it offers, great combat, superb characters and atmosphere and the OST is one of the best I heard in gaming (had to download it on Apple Music right away). hope to finish it in 2-3 weeks (going for the platinum).
Seems like positive reviews on Steam, will try it later although I believe my current PC will not be able to run it. Hope itll be good, spend too much time on OW and I would live a good OW clone.
if Sony finds a way how to play our physical games collection on this handheld, I will totally buy it. my backlog is already at 100 games +- so this could be great (of course with an acceptable battery life).
have a switch, will buy the successor. have a psp and a vita, would love to have a new PS handheld that at least could play PS4 games, if it could play ps5 games on a reduces resolution and/or details that would be a day one for me. but no streaming.
Was it confirmed if this will be a 5vs5 or 6vs6 (or other config). Was a huge fan of OW but the transition to 5vs5 (and other stuff) killed it for me. Also, was it confirmed if there will be classes like tank, dps and support?
I was saving money for the pro, but 920€ with the disc drive was a stop for me. Good for the people that will get it, but that money is half of my budget for my next gaming PC.
Ghostwire was at least twice for free in the Epic store, maybe I will try it in the future. While I loved Death Note (at least the first half), cant get with the idea of an Among Us type of game. The third game is irrelevant for me.
Finished the platinum for the main game and got many trophies for one DLC, this one looks good but I got a bit tired at the end. In addition, there is a big lag on the end-game (and specially on endless mode) while playing on the PS4. I will get the DLC later, with the other DLCs I am missing.
To be honest the spiritborn is the less interesting part of the DLC. It reminds me too much of D3 monk, ny least favorite class. I am on lvl60 paragon 40, like the changes so far. I will also finish this season (finished all season’s journey so far), just hope they will add more classes (faster) in the future (paladin, witch doctor my first picks).
