@Davros79 black flag was pretty much the worst assassin's creed game for me. Unity has only been a little choppy at times, which I can tolerate because of the value they have added everywhere else. My point is not that Ubisoft couldn't have done better, but that to leave it off the poll is not a principled act by Push square. I remember a game called Skyrim that forced me to reboot my Ps3 multiple times per night, yet still raked in many GOTY awards. Not that Unity would be many people's choice, but to act like it would be wrong to let people vote for it is ridiculous. Seriously to me this game is obviously way more ambitious than Black Flag, and the fact that there have been issues is disappointing but not shocking.
@ShogunRok I let a day go by to think about this. I started using your website about 3 years ago as my main source for PlayStation news because I appreciate your sense of humor and there is less of the fanboy wars here than other sites. Overall I have been appreciative of your efforts. But frankly your coverage of Unity has been atrocious. I understand many people have had issues, very serious issues, but your reporting on a game which personally I would rate a 9 has been so fixated on the bad launch that instead of simply giving us information as it happens you seem to be actively trying to discourage anyone who might have interest in the game from checking it out. You've been like the girlfriend who can't have any discussion without mentioning that time you left the toilet seat up. And when it comes time for a reader poll, you ignore the fact that the game sold very well, most sites rated it much higher than you, and some of your readers had already been quite vocal about their experiences with the game being quite different from yours, and instead of allowing readers to disagree with you with a simple vote, you leave it off your poll and claim it is a matter of principle. At the same time you point out that you welcome the "other" opinion... As for standards, you barely give credit to Ubisoft for working hard to patch the game and appease valued customers, while your coverage retreads snarky jibes, and your main intent seems to be to make sure that you include a play on words in the article, and the only meaningful information is a link to eurogamer. So no, I have not been overly impressed of late.
@ShogunRok I thought the point of a user poll was to find what your readers considered their game of the year was, for themselves. To eliminate a choice from them based on your own experience is un petit peu lache, n'est pas?
@ShogunRok couldn't put it on your list? Sorry, that' s kind of BS. If people agreed with you, they don't have to vote for it.but for some of us it was the most fun game of the year, it's all I've been playing since launch with no complaints except a little choppinness at times.
I know everyone expects everything they pay for to be perfect, but things rarely are. A modern video game launch especially on new hardware with a new software engine is an very likely to have serious challenges that are not going to be fully understood before launch. If you've played Unity, I think you'd have to agree that it is a fairly ambitious title in regards to detail and especially the number of NPC 's for an open world game. Plus to me it is clearly a labor of love for these French developers to have their top series in their beloved Paris.
I' ve seen the laggy video above and agree, that it looks unplayable, but I doubt Ubisoft expected that result at launch and released the game anyway just as a cash grab. I am sure they are just as dismayed as some of you are pissed. But consider, there are some (perhaps many?) of us that have seriously had close to zero of these issues. Ubisoft is obviously a company that relies on repeat business, and I doubt they knew it would be so bad.
Anyway, if you are the type that can't deal with a game being buggy, or the possibility that a game might have issues at launch, DON'T buy games at launch. And if you're the type of person that would sue over a 60 dollar video game FOR ANY REASON, congratulations, you are among the very dregs of humanity.
I fell through the map a couple times, but honestly, in small doses I love that kind of bug. Ubisoft showed a lot of class giving away a game, AND releasing 4 patches. Are you guys hard at work at your re-review? Or are you going to stand behind your rating of 5 out of 10? Because there's no way this game is a 5, or Assassin's Creed is the worst game series of all time.
@ShogunRok I recognize there were problems, but everybody going on as though Ubisoft pissed in their cornflakes is making the gaming community seem like the self-entitled, immature, brats that they probably mostly are, and as a grown man it is tiresome.
Sorry Sammy, but I'm going to object to your use of the word "unfortunate " to describe season pass buyers. I wish I had bought one. Also I'm tired of every article you guys write about this game portraying it as a total disaster of a launch. I have played it from day one with almost zero complaints, I mean really, don't you folks remember Skyrim? I don't think you should ignore the issues some have had, but calling a bunch of people who are getting a free AAA title for free as "unfortunates" is a bit illogical. BTW, Unity for me is the best Assassin's Creed since II. Otherwise, keep up the good work.

I hope you guys realize that you are holding Ubisoft to a standard that you yourselves do not reach, nor seem to aspire to reach.

Tres bien!
Re: Your Assassin's Creed Unity Compensation Can Now Be Claimed
I think the game is just a bit too French for these Brits.
