@Residentsteven I really want a PSVR2 for Hitman, but it's just not enough to justify the price. Sony dropped the ball hard on PSVR2. I had the first one, and while it was clunky, there was enough software that I was happy with it.
@Oz_Who_Dat_Dare I don't totally disagree, but it's more what games are getting remastered, Until Dawn, Last of US, Horizon, Days Gone. Games that are easily accessible, games that already look great on current Gen.
The GOW games are stuck on PS2 and PS3, and could be updated.
The shooter spin offs were fun. EA totally killed the tower defense game with part 2 and all the stupid micro transactions.
For me Bloons took over to scratch that tower defense itch. Mobile game paid the $10 for it, and can ignore all the micro transactions and have a full fledged game.
I've wanted Killer Instinct forever. I've never really been a PC player then I realized Steam gives refunds. Paid like $8 bucks for KI Complete and the game runs fine on my Beelink Mini PC.
@IceClimbersMain because they thought they would make a fortune nickel and diming people. Why make it a single purchase for $60 when you can slowly make more. Problem is it's getting harder to get people on board.
@CallMeDuraSouka the point is, the machine (Xbox) that you have works, if there is a game on there you want, buy it, who cares if it comes out on PS? The copy you buy for Xbox will continue to work. Nobody is forcing you to create a redundant library
@CallMeDuraSouka why would you be reluctant to buy games for a machine you have? It's not like they're gonna stop working. Games like MCC isn't going to be better on PS5, they'll be the same as the machine you have.
@PuppetMaster is actually prefer it this way, I don't need a game to be around for years. I'm not looking for yearly sports game incremental upgrades, but every 3 or so years a new game, new mechanics.
I'd rather that then $50 for a crappy story and a few underwhelming characters.
@Yusuo probably, but a lot of people have consoles and not PCs that can handle games. Cities Skyline was really good on console and get a great deal of things right
@MrPeanutbutterz oh man, that was the reason I couldn't play this game! I remember trying to play it on my crt and couldn't read a damn thing and gave right up!
Companies have changed customer's buying habits, they want live service games and games that keep players engaged. That is what they got.
Fighting games with drip fed new characters, DLC expansions, shooters with seasons, F2P that really costs money. Now players are sticking with games longer, buying less and companies are wondering why not every game is selling like crazy.
I gravitated to the PS FOR those single player games, Uncharted, Killzone, Resistance, GOW, The Last of Us, Spiderman, Infamous, Ghost of Tsushima, I'll even add games like Resogun.
Yes, some of those games had multiplayer. However it wasn't a GAaS or Live Service. They were single player games with usually a fun multiplayer component to it.
I understand there is a wide variety of vendors which includes live service games. However a company has to almost be lucky to launch a successful one. Seems like for every 1 successful live service, there at least 5 flops. All these executives seem to just be chasing the money.
Suicide Squad and Concord were panned for so long before release, and it seemed like the executives were just going to push through and launch the games, believing none of the negative hype was real when I reality it shouldn't have been a huge surprise that the games failed.
I know that graphics aren't everything, I know the game is about $5, and I know it was probably made by just a couple of people. This is not why I bought a PS5 though.
I've learned that you'll get a much better and cheaper experience waiting. Whatever needs to get patched will get buttoned up. They'll add new things, ie photo mode, new game + and more likely it'll drop in price.
@Max_the_German not at all, what reason is there to create this game to "learn"? A sequel is going to be similar in tone and gameplay, they aren't going to spend the money for a team to play around, they'd just skip to part 2.
The fact is Sony thinks it'll make money, and that is why it exists.
@NoCode23 "No it is not like the expansions and dlc of GTAIV and other single player games"
Exactly, I'm not interested in creating my own story, I don't want to have to do tricks, like you mentioned to play solo, just the point of having to use a trick means it is not meant to be a single player story mission.

I've learned my lesson with Far Cry. When the DLC releases, the base game will be on sale for dirt cheap. That's when I'll buy the game.
