Re: That New Digimon Game's Turning Out to Be a Huge Hit

@Deadhunter I mean the its 2025 is irrelevant, that means nothing tbf. if you're reading text generally your giving it a voice anyway even if it your own. Some of the most beloved games have used that approach such as the elder scrolls games. I just don't see a reason to take anything away from people who enjoy that kind of thing.

A final point I'll make is that certainly in the case of games like pokemon, voice acting should be absent anyway, due to having a broad fan base with young kids included. I think reading is important, Hell people in general should read more anyway. It's far better then mindlessly tapping through text, or going on your phone while VA dialogue is going on which people do.

@J2theEzzo @cainhurst94 @Dalamar

You guys know silent protagonists in a lot of games (such as pokemon but not all admittedly) are meant to be avatars right? They're supposed to be you the player, so your supposed to give them their voice.

Wanting them die out is kinda harsh isn't it?

Re: 'Increasingly Selective Consumers' to Blame for Underperformance of Blades of Fire

Seems to be the trend these days, some good games that deserve better often fly under the radar. Even more frustrating when terrible games seem to get more exposure because they're terrible. Even if its a minority, given how people reacted to ghost of yotei here in the comments recently likely points to near unrealistic expectations for games these days, making it even harder to break through with a good game, add that along with the near constant releases of games and it can paint a grim picture sometimes.

Re: Talking Point: Is It Officially Game Over for PSVR2?

Yozora146_

I've said the before but I'll say it again, the state of VR right now isn't exactly good. The only ones pushing for it anymore are meta anyway, and the sales of the quest 3 aren't great either. And with sony chasing the live service dream it seems in the end they were in the VR space just in case it exploded.

I love mine for the games I have on it especially GT7 and I wish others would try it, but most are too stubborn or can't handle the initial VR sickness so it'll never be mainstream.

Only way VR might get big is if they released a VR2 quality esque headset that's dirt cheap (even if it's unrealistic) at like £100.

Re: Sony Still Working on PSVR2, Full Hand Tracking Tech Is On the Way

Yozora146_

Given sony's first party output for the PS5 in is nowhere near what it was during the ps4 era I'm not surprised 1st party VR titles are practically non existent. And given how sony wants to output ones first party title per year now I don't see VR output increasing much. Thank god for 3rd party support though. Just did my S+ professional play through for the plat of resi 4. Was an absolute blast. If you've got your VR legs I recommend it to everybody.

Re: Boy! God of War Ragnarok Will Be PS5 Pro Enhanced

Yozora146_

@Chrisathickson not quite what I meant, but the performance mode presumably has lower graphics settings (occlusion, shadow resolution etc) whereas as the 40fps is the best settings the PS5 can do. So if that mode can be reach 40+ already it should be easy to reach max ps5 settings at 60.

Re: Minecraft Is Dropping PSVR Support Early Next Year

Yozora146_

A real shame for me, loved seeing certain world like the jurassic world pack in VR. Never thought PSVR support was something that would need to be taken away. However seeing as my VR1 is packed away and my VR2 is out, I guess I'm part of the reason they can drop support lol.

Hopefully VR2 compatibility is in the works, but seeing as it too could be removed what's the point.

Re: Feature: PS5 Pro's Been Clowned on By the Entire Internet, and the Memes Will Make You Laugh

Yozora146_

@NEStalgia My comment wasn't really about value it was just about how the "improvements" the pro introduces are just what generally differs the price points between components for pc hardware.

As for value my honest opinion is that until I see actual analysed footage of pro enabled games (console in hand of say DF) throwing numbers is theoretical. Example for me is how MH wilds will work with pro and what difference it will make versus base ps5 and equivalent PC builds. I also want to see what VR improvements it brings.

I'm largely trying avoid bias these days, noticed people are using this news to either sell people crap, or to justify their own purchases. No disrespect to anyone but I want a collection of data from reliable sources before I pass any judgment on the PRO.

Re: PS5 Fans Think Sony's Accidentally Leaked a Wireless PSVR2 Headset

Yozora146_

Don't know why, but I thought a wireless accessory pack could be a thing. No idea how it would work lol. Unless sony are trying a new much cheaper revision of VR2 (given most peoples mindsets on this site sub £200) can't see this being a thing tbh. Although it seems sony are happy with the roughly 2 mil they've sold already.
