Honestly not sure, mostly because I'll believe it when I see it, seeing as I'm pretty sure it was MS who started the practice in the first place. Can't see a company chasing profit dropping the practice unless the next "xbox" is actually just an xbox branded pc like the ally stuff
@Deadhunter I mean the its 2025 is irrelevant, that means nothing tbf. if you're reading text generally your giving it a voice anyway even if it your own. Some of the most beloved games have used that approach such as the elder scrolls games. I just don't see a reason to take anything away from people who enjoy that kind of thing.
A final point I'll make is that certainly in the case of games like pokemon, voice acting should be absent anyway, due to having a broad fan base with young kids included. I think reading is important, Hell people in general should read more anyway. It's far better then mindlessly tapping through text, or going on your phone while VA dialogue is going on which people do.
I'm enjoying the game so far, also how do we feel about that dungeon exp grind area being pay walled? It's the one thing I really don't like about the game.
@Dalamar LOL that's a lot of hate, I don't really care much either for them but damn. I mean if that was the creative intent of the director wouldn't that kinda mean ignoring the point though?
You guys know silent protagonists in a lot of games (such as pokemon but not all admittedly) are meant to be avatars right? They're supposed to be you the player, so your supposed to give them their voice.
Honestly hopefully this is a good thing, makes it safer and easier to store controllers especially LE controllers once a new a PS console comes out. Just charge a battery to 50% and unplug it.
@8thDoctor fair enough if that's the case but I'm still not sure it implies a simultaneous launch, it seems to refer that the whole trilogy will release at some point on the stated devices. I mean there's no point hiding the fact they're going to port these games when its clear now that its their intention.
Seems to be the trend these days, some good games that deserve better often fly under the radar. Even more frustrating when terrible games seem to get more exposure because they're terrible. Even if its a minority, given how people reacted to ghost of yotei here in the comments recently likely points to near unrealistic expectations for games these days, making it even harder to break through with a good game, add that along with the near constant releases of games and it can paint a grim picture sometimes.
I mean live service games makes sense and sony are going to want to recuperate as much as they can from flopcord, but I think the higher ups at sony would see it as damaging to the brand to release spiderman on xbox.
I like techlands support, but the only thing that annoys me tbf is the fact that the game doesn't support HDR which I think would be amazing in a game like this.
I've said the before but I'll say it again, the state of VR right now isn't exactly good. The only ones pushing for it anymore are meta anyway, and the sales of the quest 3 aren't great either. And with sony chasing the live service dream it seems in the end they were in the VR space just in case it exploded.
I love mine for the games I have on it especially GT7 and I wish others would try it, but most are too stubborn or can't handle the initial VR sickness so it'll never be mainstream.
Only way VR might get big is if they released a VR2 quality esque headset that's dirt cheap (even if it's unrealistic) at like £100.
I kinda wish they would give an age range to highlight the demographic would be more useful than simply saying "key younger audiences". Like who is that supposed to mean? An audience like the guy who made FF16 said (forgot his name) 20-30 year olds? Or younger?
Meh, it's not cheaper than the sale it had recently, and I'm pissed off anyway as mine's broken and out of warranty so I've been trying for a month now to book it in for repair but the repair service is ass.
Hmm, I think their live service games should be multiplat, but their single player ips have sold quite poorly on pc (last I checked none have sold more than 5mil), that I wonder if its even worth the risk of losing sales from the PS store.
@Americansamurai1 brand new, I doubt it will ever drop that low not in the current economic climate anyway. But this does bring back the point that if VR is ever to attract big numbers companies like sony really should release a "lite" headset that is just dirt cheap but keeps a quality screen and lenses.
Given sony's first party output for the PS5 in is nowhere near what it was during the ps4 era I'm not surprised 1st party VR titles are practically non existent. And given how sony wants to output ones first party title per year now I don't see VR output increasing much. Thank god for 3rd party support though. Just did my S+ professional play through for the plat of resi 4. Was an absolute blast. If you've got your VR legs I recommend it to everybody.
@aethermath sony never officially stated they stopped production or wanted to liquidate stock. Bloomberg are a questionable source most times and since it was them who put the "report" out id say it was probably rubbish, certainly if they are still investing a bit in VR tech.
oooohh, I need to hear how gt7 looks. Anyone know if it looks better? I know its unpatched at the moment but if the flat mode has some bumps I hope the VR mode does as well.
@Dampsponge its just because the biggest jump is how these performances modes on the pro at times have graphics settings and/or image quality that either exceeds or matches the original quality mode at 30fps.
Simply put its the best way to compare and give the wow factor between performance modes
Ah yes, the worst part of the REMAKE series. UE4 and its texture issues. Hopefully 7RE3 will make the jump to UE5. Just hope they don't go overboard with graphical features.
@Chrisathickson not quite what I meant, but the performance mode presumably has lower graphics settings (occlusion, shadow resolution etc) whereas as the 40fps is the best settings the PS5 can do. So if that mode can be reach 40+ already it should be easy to reach max ps5 settings at 60.
Makes sense, scrolled over my FF7 remake and it was talking about how rebirth launches tomorrow. Kinda figured something was off if that was supposed to be an ad. Same with gt7 it was pulling out of date news.
A real shame for me, loved seeing certain world like the jurassic world pack in VR. Never thought PSVR support was something that would need to be taken away. However seeing as my VR1 is packed away and my VR2 is out, I guess I'm part of the reason they can drop support lol.
Hopefully VR2 compatibility is in the works, but seeing as it too could be removed what's the point.
@NEStalgia My comment wasn't really about value it was just about how the "improvements" the pro introduces are just what generally differs the price points between components for pc hardware.
As for value my honest opinion is that until I see actual analysed footage of pro enabled games (console in hand of say DF) throwing numbers is theoretical. Example for me is how MH wilds will work with pro and what difference it will make versus base ps5 and equivalent PC builds. I also want to see what VR improvements it brings.
I'm largely trying avoid bias these days, noticed people are using this news to either sell people crap, or to justify their own purchases. No disrespect to anyone but I want a collection of data from reliable sources before I pass any judgment on the PRO.
Its kinda funny, but in a way, all the no difference beef pretty much clowns the whole high end pc market at the same time as, aside from the very rare path tracing, the upgrades the pro offers are very much what the PC hardware market is.
@TrickyDicky99 yeah, never said they were good numbers lol. The recent sale is what gave it that push. Things look a bit poor for VR headsets at the moment, even the MQ3 isnt doing that well if estimates are accurate.
Probably the best game for the pro, seeing as looked like it was vasaline smeared at 60fps (it was during my playthrough at least). So bad I opted to play it at 30fps.
@PloverNutter made up by fans is pretty harsh, when its from sources that also estimate meta quest 2,3 sales, seeing as meta don't officially report units sold.
Don't know why, but I thought a wireless accessory pack could be a thing. No idea how it would work lol. Unless sony are trying a new much cheaper revision of VR2 (given most peoples mindsets on this site sub £200) can't see this being a thing tbh. Although it seems sony are happy with the roughly 2 mil they've sold already.
I gotta be honest, even if i get hate, those that would only pay £25 more is just delusional and ignorant at the cost of such technology. Though I do wonder what the reasoning would be.

Though I usually like to read the text in games like this anyway tbf, much faster.

Wait I'm confused, at what point did they state that the 3rd part is releasing simultaneously in this article?
