@grimgaming Firstly I don't pay for Gamepass, MS rewards has paid for my Gamepass for the last 18 months & I'm paid up for another 5 months to come. Secondly if you only play Call of Duty then you obviously play online so you are going to have to pay a PS+ subscription to play online anyway
There was a report recently that In 2021, over 1 MILLION PlayStation players ONLY played Call of Duty on their PlayStation and nothing else, and 6 million PlayStation gamers spent 70% of their time only playing Call of Duty. If I was one of those players with the choice of getting the game on Gamepass for free on day one that might persuade me to change from PS to Xbox.
@DanteDevilHunter the reason Forza Horizon 3 (and all the older Forza games) have gone from the Xbox Storefront is the the licensing deals for the cars have run out so they can’t sell it anymore, that is what happens with games with licensed content, Driveclub on the PS is the same. At least you can still play it, I bought a couple of Lego games on the iPad and after a couple of years they were completely gone, not even downloadable.
@PhhhCough "Sony buys MS" Sony is worth $90b, Microsoft $1937b
It is far more likely to be the other way round if it every happens (MS did try to buy Nintendo many years ago) Any merger/takeover of any of the 3 big players is unlikely to be allowed due to competition law anyway.
In isolation a £10 charge seems remarkably good value to upgrade, unfortunately it is not in isolation, Sony seems to be oblivious on how bad it looks in comparison to Xbox, games £10 cheaper, the simplicity of installing upgrades - you don't need to it does it automatically, the conversion of save game, not needed it does it automatically, not being able to accidentally install the wrong version and on the PS5 the absolutely cripplingly small internal drive space, the NVME expansion farce, the redesign of the heatsink is a bad look, desperate pennypinching and the biggest danger to Sony, gamepass, it really is a killer app. Playstation only has one big advantage, exclusives, if there are a couple of badly received big tentpole exclusives the PS brand could be in big trouble.
@Fiendish-Beaver I've read several reports from developers that upgrading a game to series X/S can be just a few hours work but on the PS5 that game has to be almost completely rewritten, a much bigger job.
I bet all the people who are complaining about this update and the sequel not coming the PlayStation are the same fanboys who use PS exclusives as some kind of ludicrous "proof" that PS is better than Xbox, you can't complain if you are happy with PS exclusives that MS is doing the same.
@Col_McCafferty Netflix has produced plenty of excellent films (particularly documentaries) and TV series but that is not the point, the point is that they are incredibly successful with the large library subscription model which Microsoft is doing a version of and doing very well, a million new Gamepass subscribers every month. Sony's response? to make games even more overpriced that they already were. (just like 4K UHD disks)
For me this PS v Xbox is developing all the hallmarks of Blu-Ray vs Netflix and it seems like Sony is on the wrong side of argument, If I have £180 to spend a year on games what are the choices, 2 brand new PS5 games or a year of Gamepass with a choice of over 200 games? We all know how films on physical media sales have plummeted, down 50% in the last 5 years....

Re: Gran Turismo 7 Trailer Pits Real-Life Against PS5
If that is the best they can do Sony should be worried, Forza Motorsport 7 on the Xbox One X looks better and that was released over 4 years ago.
