I very much suspect Concord and perhaps the whole "12 live service games" initiative is why Connie Booth suddenly left around the time the CEO changed and just before TLoU online was cancelled.
Sony saw the writing on the wall for the last several months and wasted a bunch of money on animated ads that don't look like the game. They should have moved to f2p before announcing the price and rethought the monetization. Where was Bungie and their "centre of excellence" advice?
I'm just not digging the aesthetic or the story here. The UI looks like they took the Persona 5 menus and intentionally ruined the clean look that made them so clear and usable.
No real incentive to play since the only character I'm interested in you can't get until almost the end of the campaign. Also, the crappy shadows in caves and bunkers that make it so you can't even see half the screen at times really detract from the good gunplay.
Not even trying the beta since I unsubbed from PS+. Initially linking the beta to preorders was a rookie mistake. The beta should have been planned as a PS+ perk all along to maximize feedback and prevent any impression that preorders are low, which we can now presume.
Sony needed to bring first-party games and third parties needed something besides shooters and horror games to vet me to upgrade from PSVR. Wipeout and Rez are still the best games for me ¯(ツ)/¯
No Windows computers here and have always been a console gamer. Don't mind other folks getting to play these games (and funding more). It's silly to think PSN accounts weren't going to happen though, as most large publishers do this.
