Re: Round Up: Crimson Desert Reviews Are a Major Disappointment

Snowrunner

The warning signs were there…very late to show any p5 footage. Snarky remarks from developer, no reviews before launch. If they were confident in the game why do these things. No embargo as there is no product! Unless the day one patch is the only way this could be saved. A fear damage is done, should have held it back a week for reviewers to get patched game.

This website is supposed to support PlayStation?
If a game is reviewed as poor it gets a poor review fair enough.

Why are you attacking PSVR2? Are you trying to end all sales are you trying to discourage developers not to consider porting or making games for it?

Yes it’s niche…that does not mean you have to try and publicly destroy it. Review games in on their merits. It’s comments like you have made turn people away who maybe considering. That intern affects developers, people jobs.

Constant rumors of PS6 and Portal 2, I you going to start telling people to wait and not purchase PS5 or the Pro?

SUPPORT THE GAMES INDUSTRY!

Your words reach a lot of people who make opinions what you say. Your comments are killing developers or just deciding not to port.

Unless you hate VR you should know PSVR2 is a very decent piece of hardware.

Re: Deus Ex Game Reportedly Cancelled, Almost 100 Devs Laid Off

I think you have to look at the studios. Games cost millions to develop and many years, all of that can be lost in launch reviews over two or three days. The last Saints Row is a great example, I enjoyed the game but reviewers not so much so its sales did not even take off as hoped and their is no almost no recovery stories ok Cyberpunk. So the studio essentially went bust unless the publisher bailed it out. Publishers can not keep doing that. So went it is obvious the game is not going to make the grade and at least cover costs, the game should be halted. Surely those in power at volition should have seen Saints was not going to hit the expectations and that the game was clearly not happening as AAA hit long before it was released. They should have pulled the plug or released at a lower price point where game buyers may have take a punt at it.

Easy to blame Embracer and they appear to have simply moved to fast in picking up studios. But studios do not unlimited funds nor do publishers. Too many games being released looses quality which looses sales which kills the company. Other extreme Rockstar very few games but usually very high quality.
