Looks like the older Eidos published version has been delisted off Steam's store. Though to be honest, if I was to get FFVIII again, I would get it on the Switch.
It's a game that really wants you to find exploits in the game to progress. If you play too honestly, you'll be practically walking on glue. It's tough because the exploits require you to figure out some crazy maths and how certain characters do things in battle. I have a fried who back then ran some serious spread sheets to figure out how to exploit characters and battles.
Just to clarify, the Steam version of FFVIII is actually based on the original 2000 PC release that was published by Eidos. In that version there was an INI file that could use to manipulate in game values and use it to cheat the game. The Steam release was mainly an updated version of the 2000 release to work on newer versions of Windows and had a front end menu that allowed you to cheat the game without the need to tinker with the INI file.
My guess is that seeing as this is a newer version of the game, and is closer to PS1 game (but with improved textures) than the PC game. I'm guessing that the new cheat system wouldn't have as many cheats as the Steam version as it might not even use the same files as the PC editions have used.
Ultimately, I'm optimistically cautious about Death Stranding. I love the crazy plot and story. But the very short amount of gameplay that I witnessed just looked like a series of fetch quests with a sprinkle of puzzle platforming and stealth sections. It's very possible that this game may turn into a very elaborate playable movie; think of stuff like Detroit: Become Human and Heavy Rain, but with slightly more gameplay.
As a hard core Tetsuya Mizuguchi fan boy, this announcement has made my day so damn much! This is the gamer's equivalent of discovering that one of your favourite directors is making a James Bond film.
Interesting review. I got myself the Switch version and I got myself hooked to it. I would score it a little higher, but SaGa in general is essentially the RPG equivalent of Marmite. You'll either hate it, or love it. Seeing as I enjoyed the FinalFantasy Legend titles, I liked it.

Re: Final Fantasy VIII Remastered Will Have More Cheats on PC Than on Consoles
Something I've noticed is that the Remastered version is coming to the PC on the same day.

@Nyne11Tyme FFVIII is pretty "sloggy".

Re: Death Stranding Release Date Confirmed for November 2019
Well, that piqued my interest. We get to see combat and vehicular travel rather than just walking and climbing.
This game is going to be the Twin Peaks of video games!
