@FishDude @FishDude same here. I stacked Plus up until well into 2026 during cheap sales just because it made sense, and yeah I lucked out adding a bit of Now on for this deal.

But it's not like you and I stacked Plus for this purpose, we just did organically when it was cheap. And now people rage at you for being happy? And even worse, they feel entitled enough to imply that Sony should allow them all to stack even having the knowledge that we didn't have when we did it 🤣🤣🤣

People just need to learn that sometimes people are lucky and sometimes people are not. And as for raging about quitting Playstation or not buying any more Plus....we all know that most will, especially the ones who scream loudest, and the few who don't it's not like Sony will care anyway. 👍

I think I'm stepping out of Pushsquare until after this launches because of the toxicity (with my free four years of Premium, mind!)

They don't have to let you stack, though. They're not stopping people being members of PS+, just stopping people putting more than one year on it at this time. That's up to them. Codes bought are valid and can be used again after mid-June, and they'll work the way they were sold as - PS+. So good luck getting refunds.

People only upset because it's stopping them getting cheap premium for years. Well, that's tough. I used to get upset if I couldn't get what I wanted and didn't think it was fair when others could. But I was a child then.

@NEStalgia most people didn't even expect them to apply Premium upgrades to whichever sub you had was longer, otherwise everyone would already have stacked up on Plus.

So you could argue they've gone further than most expected, and these complaints are because a lot of angry people missed what is already a generous upgrade deal and now expect Sony to let them retrospectively add years of Plus??!!

They've got no chance.

@TommyNL I know. People getting angry because they see others benefiting from a cheap deal that they can't get. Lashing out at Sony is pointless, because they put these measures in place precisely to stop such people stacking after they announced what was happening! They won't care one bit because the knew what they were doing and why.

The userbase as a whole is gaining anyway, because no-one really expected long Plus subs to convert to Premium and plenty of people are in that situation and are doing very well.

But of course that's not good enough for those who didn't gain. Hence all this entitled crap.

@ChronosChris Yes, with a valid PS Now code that will be the case.

Retailers will use the excuse that the code is valid and is only temporarily disabled in order to avoid giving people refunds. So buyers will be stuck with codes that they can only redeem after the new tiers launch, and then only for PS+ Essential.

Sony will argue they've done this because otherwise people will go and buy 5, 10, 15 years of Plus just to exploit the system? Should have been better co-ordination between Sony and the third-party sellers.

@Kidfunkadelic83 not really, but if you're looking at the Royal version then it's absolutely worth it regardless. You probably won't finish it but that doesn't matter.

You know exactly when they'll reactivate them? The day after the launch of the new service, at which point they will add as Plus Essential.

I suppose you can see why they're doing it, and there will be plenty of winners as well as losers in this scenario (those of us who for whatever reason already had plenty of plus stacked) but sucks for those trying to add what they assumed were valid codes.

These are exactly the kind of games that will either be on Extra/Premium at launch, or added soon after.

If you're in for either of those it doesn't make much sense to buy much off these particular sales, or indeed any PSN sale they start before the game list is revealed.

@tomassi That is correct, I have Now until next Spring but Plus until Spring 2026 so I'm in that lucky group. See if you can find working PS+ codes - it seems Sony is blocking a lot of them even if they're 'valid' when bought. And can't extend via the store anymore either.

@Elodin can jump in here and confirm that your Now sub will convert to Premium so you're covered - don't buy any more Plus!

@Bleachedsmiles Once it launches, if you only have Plus you'd have to pay the difference between the tier pricing to get upgraded (no real saving).

But if you can find and redeem a working PS Now code that covers the launch date then it will upgrade your years plus to premium.

@PaperAlien Yep, if you can find a valid PS Now code and manage to redeem it then that is the case, but I'd be fast - in the last couple of hours Sony have disabled Plus purchases from the store, and codes aren't always working either when people try to redeem them

@QualityGeezer If you have a Now sub running you'll get it free - if not, then you'll have to pay the difference if you want it.

I grabbed a year of Now with the last loophole and was already stacked with Plus until 2026 from sales last year.

Thought I was getting a year of Premium to try it out...turns out I get it for a few more years

I tried to be even more greedy and extend for another couple years but it seems that Sony have disabled Plus purchases from the store on the web and app - comes up 'Can't add to cart - you've already purchased this item'!

@Golem25 I am covered with Premium until early 2026. I'm half tempted to boost my Plus for another year or two to extend it even further as that can still be purchased via the store, but on the other hand I'm nervous to mess around with anything to do with my subs now before June in case something goes wrong and I lose what I've already gained lol

@Golem25 Yep, and same for people who are loaded up with years of PS+ from cheap ass sales and took out a Now sub until after June because they get Premium too for the whole length.

@Juvenlast Sony have confirmed games will rotate in and out so unlike Plus, games could leave even if you download them and remain subbed.

It's the one downside, but then again same as Gamepass with third party stuff

Unless they've disabled upgrading from now until launch...not sure. But the wording is pretty unambiguous, one sub for the longer of both services.

Just had an email from Sony regarding the new tiers.....they're giving you the longer of whatever your sub is if you have both!!!

So for me, Plus until 2027 and 1 year of Now I bought last.month gets converted to Premium until 2027!

@Th3solution would be excellent if EA play is included. Not like there's loads on it for me, but It Takes Two, the F1 games, and Mass Effect is more than enough to make it worthwhile.

As for the games, I bought Curse of the Dead God's when I grew too frustrated waiting for Hades to reach PS4. It was fun for an hour or so for a few days but never loaded it up again after that. It ain't no Hades!

At least with the first region launch on 23rd May, we should find out what games are on this service pretty soon. They'll have to give potential subscribers a week or two of notice, along with any upgrade paths etc

As for people crying about having to wait a couple more weeks than other regions? Does it REALLY matter that much? If it does, you perhaps have bigger issues to worry about.

The definitive collection of this has been in my backlog for too long!
