£114.99 for the Ultimate Edition is insane…I’ve not seen anyone charge that much for any new release. Prices stepping into Collectors Edition territory now.
Smart by Sony releasing Horizon Zero Dawn complete edition, creates really good press for them and hypes people up who haven't played it yet for Horizon Forbidden West later this year.
I've only replayed 2 games in my life - The Last of Us remastered and God of War 4. Only played them again as I loved the experiences so much and had forgotten a lot of what had happened.
Part of the reason why I never usually replay games is that after a certain amount of time the mechanics and graphics get so outdated I have no desire to go back.
Mostly though I can justify spending another 1hr 30mins to rewatch a movie I loved (especially if it's in the background), but not another 15+ hours replaying a game which requires my full attention.
Doesn't really bother me as PS Plus is still giving lots of reasons to stay with the PS5 and having the disc version I can still make most my money back after completing it.
If it got to the point where it wasn't the case and I could play God of War Ragnorak less than a year later on PC for £20 like with Death Stranding (though I think that was largely due to it being quite a polarizing game - was 5.1 on Metacritic until they deleted 6000 reviews) I'd probably just sell my PS5, so I win either way.
Said similar early in Nov, just asking for people to not buy on day one when you’d bank on them - disc version - being more or less half price a few months after release (supply and demand, as I can only see a tiny minority spending £70 every time on unknowns IP's which means prices should drop quickly).
Personally I've only ever bought the gold standard games I absolutely love on day one for the past few years anyway (GoW, TLOU2 etc.) and that was only in the knowledge I can sell them for the same price after completing it as they hold their value well.
I quite enjoyed it, but as you eluded to, there was nothing I found remotely interesting exclusive wise. If it wasn't for the fact PS4 doesn't have a UHD player I probably wouldn't even own an Xbox One I've become so disinterested in their exclusives (that and the fact I can play all those on the PC anyway)! If PS gets a Games Pass equivalent that may be the final nail in the coffin for me exclusives wise.
Because it’s too expensive and the quality isn’t great. 3D showed that isn’t a great combination! Only now with passive 3D on 4K TV’s is the picture great at home - I suspect VR will need at least another gen (realistically 2) to be at the required level.
Personally for me I can't play VR too long as the display is uncomfortable to look at for long periods at a time.
Next summer at the earliest I reckon. I'll be happy to wait though as I've always upgraded straight away recently and each time its bit me on the b** (discounts/package deals just barely a month after release).
Will never forget the Xbox price drop after just 4 months to match PS4 (at least back in the day customers were compensated for such). Games are usually naff to start with as well, bar the odd exception.

Re: THQ Nordic Is Trying to Convince Remedy to Release Alan Wake 2 Physically
If I wanted a digital game, I would have saved myself £90 on the console and not bought the disc version…
All this does is guarantee many (like myself) won’t buy it on release and will instead wait for the inevitable deep sale as a result.

Re: Godfall Gets Its Best PS5 Trailer Yet
Definitely doesn't look like a game I'd personally spend £60 on (looks too similar to the free to play games).

@BearsEatBeets thats a shame, appreciate the response anyway!

Re: E3 2018: Jump Force First Gameplay Is Anime Fighting with a Realistic Visual Edge
Looks really good, might actually be the first fighter to tempt me into buying instead of waiting until its below £10 like Mortal Kombat etc...
