Re: Game of the Year: Best PlayStation Vita Games of 2013

Realportugeezer

Out of the games I played this year (not necessarily released this year):
(1) Persona 4 Golden (not even that far in yet but completely gripped)
(2) Littlebigplanet Vita (2012 release but absolutely superb and never stopped smiling)
(3) Little King's Story (pleasant story if slow to get going)
(4) LEGO Lord of the Rings (a port but still very fun although admittedly lacking use of any of the Vita's unique features)

Re: Those Waiting for Their PS4s Didn't Have an Especially Merry Christmas

Realportugeezer

I still remember the day when I was bought an ageing PSone for Christmas in 2002 with a sole copy of Rally Championship. I was the happiest kid in the world having only previously had a Game Boy Color then Game Boy Advance as consoles - spending that money so early on a kid is only going to lead to tantrums and disappointment/bankruptcy in the future... SIGH

Re: Soapbox: Assassin's Creed's Modern Day Component Is Holding the Series Back

Enjoyed it in Assassin's Creed 1, 2 and 3 (especially the first two as the story felt like it was going somewhere).
Seems like they are struggling to get a decent character arc in following the end of Desmond - they need to really throw something Mirror's Edge like at it for the modern day segments (leaping out of skyscrapers, racing across cities, stealth in train stations/airports Jason Bourne-style, etc) to make it an interesting 30 min change to justify the intrusion

Re: Poll: What Was Your Favourite PlayStation Game of 2013?

Persona 4 Golden without a shadow of a doubt. I only got it for Christmas late 2013 and within a week of playing it it is my Game of the Year without any hesitation! (I should qualify that I'm not a big RPG player normally and that I haven't gotten round to playing The Last of Us yet)

Re: Sony: We Have Some Epic PS4 Reveals Under Wraps

I'd like a LittleBigPlanet ps4 as it would allow a really advanced physics engine and many more possibilities in terms of what is achievable. Links to the vita (or the little touchpad) could aid design also on the touchscreens.

The qualification of course is that there are always some losers between generations (crash, spyro, pro Evo, tomb raider etc all lost out between ps1 and ps2) so one or two ps3 stalwarts might struggle without adequate evolution and support. Some new IPs would be positive!

Re: Assassin's Creed III's Day One Patch Is Essential Too

Realportugeezer

(a) Who doesn't have access to the internet nowadays
(b) Games are a lot more complicated and complex than on previous generation consoles so it is harder and harder to reduce the risk of bugs given the complex coding
(c) It is better for them to admit the problem with a Day One patch than try to ignore the problem and leave it a few weeks until people complain
