Re: As PSVR2 Dies a Slow Death, One of Its Best Devs Confirms Mass Layoffs

Playstation4Ever

I really like Pushsquare over the years, but lately they have a lot of unwarranted hate towards the PS VR2. If they continue to think and promote negativity towards PS VR2, they might as well do it to all of VR gaming. Maybe they want all of VR gaming to fail for some odd reason.

I don't think Pushsquare's VR negatively helps at all and just feeds into the negativity towards VR. In the state that ALL of the gaming industry is in right now with layoffs, canceled games, and studios closing, people should be promoting the positives because VR is a smaller niche and needs all the help and support it can get.🫤 If you were a real fan of VR, you'd see all the great things about PS VR2, Quest, and PC VR. PS VR2 continues to release new games every month. April is going to have a lot of good VR games releasing. Not to mention, the Microsoft Flight Simulator VR Mode that is coming soon to PS VR2. 😐

My rant continues... Part 2...

The PS VR2 price has come down, so it's a lot more affordable than it was when it was first released. It is a lot less expensive than PC VR headsets. It is PC compatible, which expands to all of PC VR gaming, so someone can't use the "Quest and PC has more games" nonsense. Personally, I don't have a gaming PC and have been constantly bombarded with plenty of games in a variety of genres available in the PS VR2 library. So much so that I can't even catch up with all the great games I want to play. Over the last three years, I currently have 80 PS VR2 games and there's still more I want to play. Even though there are smaller games available, PS VR2 players aren't starving for a variety of bigger games. It is actually very overwhelming how many great, well-made, and full-fledged games there are, but that is a good thing.

If I didn't have internet, I'd be oblivious to all the negative press, unbalanced takes, & utter hate for PS VR2 since I have enjoyed it so much. The negativity for PS VR2 has been around before it was even released! I'm here to tell you what one real fan & VR enthusiast thinks about it.

Meta markets Quest 100% better than Sony has, but it doesn't mean Sony hasn't supported PS VR2. There is all this constant negative news and Sony can definitely present PS VR2 in a better light. Of course VR isn't for everyone, there is a bigger learning curve, and a VR player needs to do more research into VR than a regular gamer would. PS VR2 has its positives and negatives just like Quest and PC VR has theirs. If you actually like or are interested in VR, how about giving it a chance and see for yourself how fun it really is to play and see whether you like it or not. Don't let others yuck your yum.

The biggest negative about PS VR2 for me is that PS VR2 fans, like me, have to defend it because Sony sure doesn't seem to. Nonetheless, I've had a blast since day-one, I'm still very happy with it, I'm still loving it, and I still haven't been able to play all the great PS VR2 games available that I want to play. It has been super fun for this VR fan and isn't that what games are supposed to be... fun. I'm still excited to see what comes next for it.

Re: Video: Silence as PSVR2 Turns Three Years Old - Is Sony's PS5 Headset Dead?

I'm forced to rant, so here it goes... Part 1...

As a first day purchaser of PS VR2, I don't think it is dead at all. Of course, it is disappointing not to see PS VR2 promoted more and have more big first-party VR games announced, but the pandemi, Sony's "live-service" fiasco, and the gaming industry as a whole has affected all of gaming, not just VR. You just can notice those affects more for PS VR2 because it's a smaller niche than regular PS5 games. It is a bigger problem than just VR, when all of the gaming industry is laying off people, canceling games, and closing down game studios left and right.

Another problem that Sony has as a company is that Playstation's strategy throughout their history is to stay silent, don't defend themselves, and just go about their business. Since Playstation products have always been great and basically sell themselves, Sony erroneously believes in a smaller marketing strategy, especially for its additional products. They've always mainly concentrated on their main Playstation consoles and have never changed since 1995. Conversely, you'd see Meta Quest ads literally everywhere. And people, like my dad, who aren't gamers, knew about Quest and never heard of PS VR2. Sony definitely needs to be better at marketing their products even if they think they don't have to.

There are reasons why the PS VR2 is not dead, despite all these things, because it still strongly competes with other VR headsets. If you think PS VR2 is dead, you might as well think all VR is dead, but that is not true. PS VR2 is still a great overall VR headset with many capabilities. There are so many great VR games to play in the 400+ and continuously growing library. Every month, great PS VR2 games keep coming, like the upcoming Microsoft Flight Simulator VR Mode. It has great headset & controller features that are easy to use and make gamers more immersive. For me, it is comfortable by itself, especially when paired with the Sony Pulse 3D Audio Headset but like other VR headsets, you can be even more comfortable if you buy separate head straps, like the Globular Cluster.

It never bothered me, but some may not like the cable, but it is utilizing all the power of the PS5. The graphics and size of games are much bigger and better than a stand-alone Quest headset. Even most of the PC games that also have a PS VR2 version look comparable or sometimes look even better and are more stable on the PS VR2, and you don't even need to mess with PC settings. It's plug in one cord and play. PS VR2 is very impressive graphically, stability-wise, and ease of use.

@Reeneman

No doubt, there should be a higher expectation to quality for PSVR2 and any new VR headsets coming. So far, having a blast with games like RE Village, Horizon, GT7, Pavlov, Song in the Smoke, Star Wars Galaxy's Edge, Light Brigade, and of course, Walking Dead Saints & Sinners 1 & 2. It's only been a month and a half and there are so many great games already. I'm playing a lot but haven't been able to play through them all entirely yet but what I've played, I've really enjoyed so far.

As for upcoming "supposed to be" high quality games, I'm really looking forward to games like Behemoth, Crossfire, Ghostbusters, Undead Citadel, Hellsweeper, Low Fi, Madison, Medieval Dynasty, Aces of Thunder, Hubris, Green Hell, hoping the Aliens game will be awesome, and hopefully the full game of RE 4 Remake.

All seem to be very good quality games from what I hear and that's just a handful of what's coming. I'd like to play them all soon but it'll be best if they are spread out so I can actually have time to play them all. What a problem to have... too many great games! Very exciting time for VR!

Re: All PSVR2 Games

Playstation4Ever

PSVR 2 has been very fun so far and has almost 50 games available to play right now and it has only been a little over a fortnight!

There are so many more games coming over the next months and years with 100+ games currently in development. I'm very happy and excited for VR and the possibilities of what comes next!

Re: New PSVR2 Games Release Dates in 2023

Playstation4Ever

I'm loving PSVR 2 so far and there are so many games I want to play on it. I'm very excited for a lot of the upcoming games but I'm most excited for: Saints & Sinners 2, Switchback, Crossfire, and Ghostbusters.

I would be generally excited for RE 4 VR but I can't get too excited because we don't know what that will be yet.

Overall, I'm very happy with PSVR 2 and I'm loving what I've seen with the 80+ announced games and the news of 100+ games in development. The games will keep coming throughtout the year and beyond. Great time for VR!

Re: The Last of Us Remastered PS4 Loading Time Improvements Are Extraordinary

Playstation4Ever

This is great news now but they're telling me that I didn't have to sit through all those long load screens on PS4 all these years. Makes me wonder why they didn't have this patch years ago for this or any other PS4 game that has long load times. If it doesn't affect the quality of the game, I wish they did this when PS4 first came out. That would have been great!
