Re: Sony: We Haven't Forgotten Why the PS4 Was Successful

PixelSprixie

I think one of the core reasons why the PS2 sold the huge amount it did was because Sony already had a huge install base with the PS1, and the PS2 was fully backwards compatible with it, making the generation shift almost seamless. If the PS4, with it's install base ready to jump on the PS5 with BC, it's a sure bet Sony will have a great start on the next generation. I still have my PS3 and 4 set up together and don't think I'll have room for another system.

Re: Guide: Upcoming PS4 Exclusive Games

PixelSprixie

I'm really looking forward to Dreams, I love Media Molecule and their games, and after being encapsulated by LittleBig Planet and Tearaway when they both first came out, I have a lot of confidence they'll deliver once again. With a lot of charm and imagination ^_^

Re: Talking Point: How Much Does Cross-Play Matter to You?

PixelSprixie

I've really had to look at this whole situation rather objectively as I have no real desire to play Fortnite or cross-play games but I can respect that some people do. I'm a long-time Sony and Nintendo fan, I honestly do want to see progress made for Sony to remain on-top alongside Nintendo, but right now all the bad press gives me anxious feels for SCE's future. Seeing Nintendo & MS buddy up doesn't please me, as many PS fans feel left out, but in their positions, they'll happily take it on Sony's expense.

Re: Sony Issues Statement Regarding Fortnite Cross-Platform Play on PS4

PixelSprixie

I hope after Sony was affected by the backlash they received over this Fortnite situation, it might knock a bit of sense into them and try and make a compromise with Epic. They'll need it to reclaim confidence in the PlayStation brand at this vital time as we lead into the next generation. I love PS but I'm worried that Sony are handling this badly and it might cost them next gen.

Re: Here's What a French Product Designer Thinks PS5 Will Look Like

PixelSprixie

Yeah I'll be honest the design of this mock up looks really... Like it's trying to be 'modern art'. That's not a good look for a console. I like how the PS4 visually looked similar to the PS2, with the layers but this doesn't do it for me. That controller looks like an eye sore, I don't want it to detect if I'm stressed or not!

Re: Why Ninja Theory's Leaving PlayStation

PixelSprixie

@twztid13 No worries, the reason I mention those two companies is, since they are/were both UK companies, prior to their purchase by Microsoft, they were widely celebrated studios. Same with Ninja Theory, and I just fear history may repeat itself with them. But who knows yet.

Re: Why Ninja Theory's Leaving PlayStation

PixelSprixie

@twztid13 Those were just examples really, I don't just like Sony but I prefer them over MS. What I was saying is that MS's track record of maintaining developers hasn't been the best, hence my displeasure. So I wish Ninja Theory luck with their new partners. They'll need it.

Re: Why Ninja Theory's Leaving PlayStation

PixelSprixie

Being a long-time Sony fan, this definitely made me feel bitter towards Ninja Theory after learning they were bought by MS. Though I can respect that they want to stay in the industry, MS haven't really had the best track record with maintaining their own studios. Just look at Rare and Lionhead studios.

Re: Talking Point: Do We Really Need E3?

PixelSprixie

I personally think E3 gets too much hype. It's cool that there's a celebration of the game industry, but when you consider how companies are all competing with one another to show who has the best games, I feel like it's too much. Especially if the hyped games aren't impressive to me. Considering how we see games revealed long before the event, it doesn't carry as much impact imo. Nintendo and Sony are now doing separate events. They know they don't want to overshadowed each other.

Re: Sony Is Thinking About a PSone Classic Console

PixelSprixie

I have a lot of nostalgia for my PSOne as it was my first console, so I'd be happy to see a PS1 classic in some form. Perhaps with Bluetooth controllers which are compatible with PS4 (hey, I can only hope!) and plenty of classic games to boot ^_^

Re: Sony Data Shows Digital Sales Continue to Grow on PS4

PixelSprixie

I have made a fair few digital downloads over the past few years on my PS3 and PS4 but these have primarily been games which are exclusive to the store. I prefer to physically own my games as it ensures me that come 10 years down the line, and the server's aren't up anynore (hypothetical) I can still play my games no matter what. Freak situation, PSN is offline for good and that would be my only option. Not saying if you prefer digital downloads you should be scared but having a physical collection it's very comforting, especially for me.
