Best month of the year so far for me. Super excited to play Oreshika, and Furi looks like it could be interesting too, great to be able to try it as part of Plus.
I always think back to the keynote speech at Playstation Experience last November/December, and by far the biggest reaction by the audience there was for Ni No Kuni 2, everyone went crazy. And then they went and ended the presentation with Paragon, and everyone went 'meh' and it all sort of fizzled out uncomfortably. I'd like to think Sony noticed this but I'm not very optimistic..
Probably won't be coming out in 2016 given that it has only just been announced, but Ni No Kuni 2 is far and away the game I am most looking forward to coming out of Japan. I literally jumped off my sofa and cheered when that was announced at Playstation Experience last month.
Certainly some other great games coming over before then though. Gravity Rush 2 has the potential to be a real hit if they build on the original Vita game in the right way.
I say good on Microsoft for promoting diversity by hiring an emotionless robot to play the bloke in their video. Android-British actors are so often an overlooked minority.
@justerthought Totally agree with you on going back in time again for the setting. I do hold out hope they will do this eventually. Look at what they've just announced with Far Cry Primal. I would love them to do the same with Assassin's Creed, strip away the guns and the fancy gizmos and really just focus on the basics.
I think part of what has been lost since the first few ACs is a sense of mysticism and romance for a lost time, this idea that there were greater forces at work, that you were sort of revealing hidden truths and realities - this seems to have been almost completely lost in the most recent games, and I think the only way to get that back would be to go back to the ancient cultures and civilisations you mentioned.

Thank you for this article, a good few games I hadn't heard of but a lot that look right up my street. Great stuff. What an exciting year ahead.
