@Max_the_German Or just, all platforms at the same time. The most recent FF games are a solid example that third party exclusivity is stupid and cutting yourself off from sales revenue on other platforms harms everyone
Pokopia is my GOTY so far, with Trails Beyond the Horizon and Pragmata close behind. I do love that a visual novel (Schrödinger's Call) is the top rated game on Opencritic at the moment though. I hope the "MiXtApE iSn'T a ReAl GaMe" mob are thoroughly annoyed at that one
Both Xbox and Sony will be back to extolling the virtues of cross platform play when sales of their expensive next gen hardware stall leading to lower sales on their $200m+ games.
When high end consoles cross $1000 I stop buying high end consoles, and I won't be alone there.
@PuppetMaster I did find swinging around as Spider-Man boring but then again that could be my aforementioned bias against superhero stuff in general talking
@Buck51 Yep flexibility is why the next Xbox could well be more enticing than the next Playstation if they end up similarly priced, or even if the PS is only couple 100 cheaper. An Xbox that plays Steam games would be a big W for Xbox Vs Playstation
@AI-Generation If the PS6 and the project Helix Xbox cost the same price while the Xbox plays Steam games and the PS6 does not, then I won't be buying the PS6, exclusive games be damned
A good warning regarding pricing of the PS6. The vast majority of people will not pay silly money for a console and truth be told a $1000 Xbox that potentially plays my Steam library interests me far more than a $1000 PS6 that only plays Playstation games.
No pitchforks for me because I am capable of forming a somewhat nuanced view of AI and its use in game development.
The transparency is good, the fact that any AI generated assets were temporary placeholders and removed before release is good, the fact AI tools would appear to have been used more to make the lives of the people working on the game rather than replacing their human creativity is fine by me.
Online discourse around the use of AI technology is in dire need of some nuance.
I'm here for the story so this is gonna be day 1. It will be nice to have a story from Faye's perspective because while she is spoken about in the previous games, we only have the perspective of Kratos and Atreus so I look forward to getting some context on Faye from Faye's perspective.
@Exerion76 People making a game or a genre of games a part of their identity is a massive red flag about what that person is like. A perfect illustration is the online discourse around Crimson Desert not receiving perfect reviews earlier in the year. It actually got kind of scary.
At the end of the day we all like different things in a game and we all evaluate games based on our own biases, and reviewers are no different because we are all human and thus imperfect.
A lot of people here don't seem to realise that all reviews are just one person's opinion. If you don't like this person's opinion, go seek out some other opinions. God knows there are no shortage of reviews out there for this game. The reviewer even acknowledges that a lot of people will love this game even if they did not which is fair enough. No point getting offended by an opinion.
Side note: it is the highest rated game on Metacritic for 2026 so far which you love to see from an indie.
@LordAinsley They may have been in government when it was passed but Labour were in opposition at the time when their objection was that it didn't go far enough and they are in government now making demands of companies to comply or else (and also to install backdoors in their E2EE). This is on both parties.
@Glotny 10 for Mixtape, 6 for Crimson Desert, hell all the way back to the infamous Alien Isolation reviews. When it comes to IGN people's brains have been basically mush for years now. Its not like they are a big organisation with a lot of people who write reviews for a lot of games or anything.

Re: Gears of War: E-Day Is Not Coming to PS5, Xbox Confirms Console Exclusivity
PS fanboy: exclusives are important for brand identity
Also PS fanboy: hey Xbox and Nintendo, why you not porting X game to PS?
Re: Reaction: Some PS5 Fans Think SGF Showed Sony Losing Its Grip on Third-Parties
@Rich33 Not sure I'm seeing Square Enix's mistakes here and their Revelation announcement was very well received as far as I can see
Re: Reaction: Some PS5 Fans Think SGF Showed Sony Losing Its Grip on Third-Parties
@UltimateOtaku91 That's fair, if a platform holder actually funds part or all of a game for a third party then yeah, they get announcement rights.
Re: Reaction: Some PS5 Fans Think SGF Showed Sony Losing Its Grip on Third-Parties
@RoomWithaMoose Fanboys gonna fanboy, lets be honest
Re: Reaction: Some PS5 Fans Think SGF Showed Sony Losing Its Grip on Third-Parties
@For-Kier And we are all better off for it
Re: Reaction: Some PS5 Fans Think SGF Showed Sony Losing Its Grip on Third-Parties
@psmr No console maker should have any grip on third parties be it for release exclusivity or announcement exclusivity
Re: Reaction: Some PS5 Fans Think SGF Showed Sony Losing Its Grip on Third-Parties
@UltimateOtaku91 Where their show's focus should be
Re: Reaction: Some PS5 Fans Think SGF Showed Sony Losing Its Grip on Third-Parties
@AdamNovice That is also stupid for third parties.
Announcement exclusivity and release exclusivity are equally dumb

Re: Reaction: Some PS5 Fans Think SGF Showed Sony Losing Its Grip on Third-Parties
Sony should lose their grip on third parties. Third party exclusives were always nonsense.
Re: Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3 Named Revelation, Job System Gameplay Blows Minds
And no silly bought timed exclusivity this time
Re: Poll: Is 007 First Light a Game of the Year Contender?
@X68000 Be funny if it turned out to be a 7
Re: Poll: Is 007 First Light a Game of the Year Contender?
@JoeNobody Price != value.
Game length certainly != value. Far too many games are way too long and way too bloated

Re: After Describing Them as 'Antiquated', Xbox Now Says It 'Must Have Exclusive Content and Services'
@LowDefAl Lack of support for kernel anti cheat is also a factor. No CoD, no Destiny, no Fortnite matters

Re: God of War Laufey Voted Best PS5 Game at State of Play
@Boxmonkey I didn't bring them up, just responded that the majority of people don't care what they say
Re: God of War Laufey Voted Best PS5 Game at State of Play
@Boxmonkey games fail for a multitude of reasons and the grifters have very little influence if any
Re: God of War Laufey Voted Best PS5 Game at State of Play
@Oram77 I liked that more than Ghost of Tsushima
Re: God of War Laufey Voted Best PS5 Game at State of Play
@nomither6 I want a Tomb Raider game about Jonah
Re: God of War Laufey Voted Best PS5 Game at State of Play
@Boxmonkey Most people pay no attention to what those grifters say, the game will do just fine
Re: God of War Laufey Voted Best PS5 Game at State of Play
@PuppetMaster I did find swinging around as Spider-Man boring but then again that could be my aforementioned bias against superhero stuff in general talking
Re: God of War Laufey Voted Best PS5 Game at State of Play
The more I think about God or War Laufey the more excited I get
Re: God of War Laufey Voted Best PS5 Game at State of Play
@SMJ puts hand up though I should acknowledge my bias and say I am not a fan of superhero stuff in general. I played Spider-Man and found it just fine

Re: 'That Looks Like Sh*t': God of War Creator Predictably Tears New PS5 Game to Shreds
David Jaffe must be a deeply unhappy person, all he does is hate things from what I see.
Still he gives sites like this good fodder to use as engagement bait.

@JB_Whiting Because it is IGN and hating IGN is trendy on the internet
