Re: The Order 1886 Could Have Been a Big Trilogy of PlayStation Games

LordFunkalot

@MrPeanutbutterz Yea it did feel like they were really pushing the graphics. I remember the collectibles being really detailed and there being a real focus on the graphics.
I really liked the setting tho - with the knights of the rounds, steam punk tech and Victorian London setting. Had great potential and I would have been all in for a sequel or trilogy. I guess tho if you didn’t like that then it didn’t really have much going for it.

Re: Analytics Firm Predicts Paltry Full-Price Sales for DOOM: The Dark Ages on PS5

LordFunkalot

Whilst I don’t doubt the gamepass effect and agree, IMO I also think the timing of the release and current state of pricing has a bit to play too.

I would love to to pick up Doom DA and also Indian Jones but I picked up oblivion and have a switch 2 preordered. I know if I picked up Doom now I would be rushing it and also would stop playing it on 5th. I’m close to the platinum in Oblivion, I’m slowly working on and enjoying that and maybe in a few months I’ll pick up Doom or wait for the sale. It looks awesome tho.

Re: DOOM: The Dark Ages Attracts Three Million Players, Dev's Biggest Launch in Its History

LordFunkalot

Why don’t they just say;
Xxx sold for each of ps5, Xbox, PC and then xxx played through game pass. They clearly know the numbers it’s so weird there is such smoke and mirrors with what they actually are.
I used to find the numbers interesting but now what they publish is meaningless.

Not specifically aimed at one company as it’s like an industry standard now.

Also I think Doom DA looks awesome and will pick it up at some point.

Re: Talking Point: What Are Your Thoughts on Potential $80 PS5 Games?

LordFunkalot

@Aussiemike90 Totally agree, I’ll buy Doom and GTA6 day one as I really want them, but games like Atom Fall I’ve not and will wait for a discount. I used to be more trigger happy and buy more day one but it’s a more expensive hobby now. Smaller games like Shinobi and that T2 retro game if they are around the 20 mark I’ll still probably be more inclined to pick up day one but the bigger games I’m more hesitant these days

Re: Poll: PS5 Fans, Are You Sold on the Nintendo Switch 2?

LordFunkalot

For me - Mario kart looks awesome but everything, GameCube games are cool, I really like the idea of the donkey kong game but didn’t warm to it and then there’s nothing else I like the look of at the moment. Also I didnt think the 3rd party games looked all that good. That coupled with the price makes it a difficult one to pull the trigger on for day one.

I think the fact that India Jones, Doom, THPS, MGS and GTA6 (hopefully) are all coming on PS5 this year makes it easier just to wait and see.

Re: PS Plus Essential Games for April 2025 Announced

LordFunkalot

Robocop is awesome, I picked it up in one of the first sales. It’s such a good old school throwback, solid, good but nothing amazing or ground breaking. It’s a fun, good old fashioned game tho. I played it, got the platinum and will probably never play it again but it was fun all the same. Definitely worth a play through. Will definitely pick up the next one too

Re: Rocksteady Lining Up New Single Player Batman Game After Suicide Squad Disaster, It's Claimed

LordFunkalot

@BrotherFriede Bags of ‘swag’ the villains throwing big bombs around with the word ‘bomb’ on the side. Chief Ohara and all the wacky villains like king tut and Egg head. That would be awesome, bright colourful graphics and they could reuse the old voice work from the episodes to credit all the old actors who have passed. Sadly that’s too creative and we’ll get another live service game

Re: Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater Release Date Leaked on PS Store

LordFunkalot

@PuppetMaster I get your point but for me who mainly plays on ps5 only from that list the PlayStation games are

  • Ys Memoire: The Oath in Felghana (PS5, PS4, Switch) — January 7
  • Freedom Wars Remastered (PC, PS5, PS4, Switch) — January 10
  • Dynasty Warriors: Origins (PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S) — January 177
  • Tales of Graces f Remastered (PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Switch) — January 17
  • Ender Magnolia: Bloom in the Mist (PC, PS5, PS4. Xbox Series X|S, Switch) — January 22
  • Star Wars Episode I: Jedi Power Battles (PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Switch) — January 23
  • Synduality: Echo of Ada (PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S) — January 23
  • Cuisineer (PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch) — January 28
  • Eternal Strands (PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S) — January 28
  • Neptunia Riders VS Dogoos (PS5, PS4, Switch) — January 28
  • The Stone of Madness (PC, Switch, PS5, XSX/S) — January 28
  • Tails of Iron 2: Whiskers of Winter (PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Switch) — January 28
  • Warside (PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Switch) — January 28
  • Gimmick 2 (PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One) — January 30
  • Phantom Brave: The Lost Hero (PS5, PS4, Switch) — January 30
  • Sniper Elite: Resistance (PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One) — January 30
  • Techno Banter (PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch) — January 30
  • Citizen Sleeper 2: Starward Vector (PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch) — January 31

I picked up 1 of them and I have been looking at upcoming games on this site and others.

I did look at dynasty warriors and sniper elite but they are not something I want to drop the money on. I’m thinking of picking up black myth or silent hill to tide me over. Again not super excited for those on release but I can appreciate they are good games.

It would be nice for Sony to be releasing a bit more is what I’m saying. They’ve scrapped so many projects which could have been really cool. They could even salvage some of the scrapped projects into something simple or a budget release like really basic twisted metal with 6 online maps for 15/20 with no further support or content but we’ll probably never see them.

I just wish Indiana Jones or something big like MGS was out sooner. It just seems like ages until it’s coming out and there’s nothing much im personally excited about at the moment.

Re: Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater Release Date Leaked on PS Store

LordFunkalot

Excited for this but there’s nothing out now, why are there no new games releasing now. Current gen sucks IMO and I much preferred the PSOne and Ps2 era. You could pick up a new game every month, plenary of choice and something for everyone. Always something exciting on the horizon.

I’ve been gaming ever since late 80s/early 90s so I know games are more complex and expensive to make etc.

But instead of this silliness with live service we could have had smaller remakes of things like:
Cool Boarders, Killzone, resistance
G police, Motor storm, Destruction Derby
Loaded, The Getaway, wipeout
Legend of Dragoon, Ace combat, parappa
Twisted metal, Socom, X squad etc

These are just some of many old Sony IPs or IPs associated with PlayStation.

Smaller re releases/modern ports with a high res graphics or smaller sequels would not take long to make. Why aren’t games like Killzone 1 up on PSN yet?!

The next game I’m looking forward to is Doom in May. 😕

Instead it’s a boring wait for the next game. Gutted MGS isn’t coming out until later in the year. We needed snake in March or April at the latest. Sssssssnnnnnaaaaakkkkeee
