Ah, Killzone. Guerrilla Games' gritty shooter series has, in our humble opinion, been gone for far too long — and series composer Joris de Man seems to agree.
Speaking to VideoGamer ahead of PlayStation's big music tour, de Man brings up the idea of remasters, saying that he thinks such a project would be "successful" — probably more successful than a new entry in the franchise.
He explains: "I think it’s rickety because, I can’t speak for Guerrilla or anything... I don’t know if it will ever happen. I hope it will because I think it is quite an iconic franchise, but also I think it kind of has to take into account kind of the sensitivities and the shift in, I guess, what people want because it is quite bleak in some ways."
It's an interesting take from someone who's obviously been so involved with Killzone in the past. Plenty of PlayStation fans have campaigned for the series' return over the years, but it goes without saying that Guerrilla has since hit it big with Horizon (which de Man is also the composer of) — and going back to Killzone may seem like an unnecessary diversion.
