Re: OlliOlli, Kerbal Space Program Teams Shut Down by GTA Publisher

This is the unsustainably of rampant capitalism rearing its head again. This ridiculous idea that profits remaining stable isn’t good enough, that it always has to be “higher profit margins” year on year or quarter on quarter. If every company out there follows that absurd model “year on year” by firing staff, leaving people unemployed, then how the hell do they expect people are gonna afford whatever prices you’re hiking or product you’re shilling? Not just gaming, it’s everything lately. Capitalism and the pursuit of ever higher profits is unsustainable. Always has been, we were just fooled for a time before the greedy hedgefunders and rothschild types out there sucked up too great a share and made the global economy too top heavy

Re: Sony Patent Sparks Fears of Players Being Kicked from Games by Streamers and Viewers

I can kinda see what they're thinking with this as a streamer, but at the same time it's so blatantly open to abuse.

Larger streamers, especially in the sphere of MMO's for example could benefit.
I can see this being abused badly but at the same time it seems like a good way to deal with stream snipers.

They can be mildly irritating at times but they can also get waaaay out of order like back when Asmon first hopped on ffxiv.

In that situation all the toxic idiot stream snipers followed him for 4 hours. Blocking his view, spamming particle effects, using mounts to try to prevent him from interacting with NPC's or accessing areas of the map.

All because they were intentionally trying to force a supposed "toxic person" out of "their" game.

Sure they all got ban hammered after the fact, but from Sony's or a dev/publisher pov that kind of clownage doesn't paint their IP in great light and damages the potential for that streamer's viewers to be converted to paying customers of the game.

Just another form of revenue protection in that regard while also weeding out ***** from a game session.

I can definitely see the potential abuse for esports though so for now I'm on the fence.

Re: EU PlayStation Fans Are Furious with Sony's Treatment of the PS Store

This would be the reason I have an account set up for all three regions. Licensing and rating issues mean things I'm interested in don't always cross markets.
Taiko no tatsujin is a great example, EU PSN: 3DLC, NA PSN: 3DLC, JP PSN: 30 DLC.
Only takes a couple minutes to hook up an account for another region and nearly all games are playable on your main account once purchased.
Even regional top up cards are easy to get
