Re: Reminder: PSVR2 Pre-Orders Begin on 15th November

Jettstyles

Not sure if others saw it when ordering the PSVR2, but I was surprised to see Disc PS5 God of War bundles readily available on Sony Direct. I have not been looking on there as late but knowing the PS5 and that bundle still shows sold out most everywhere else, was surprised to see it. I know stock has improved, so maybe it was just by chance.

They seemed to have opened up the window early in most areas. It opened at least 20 minutes early in EST in the states. I was able to get a bundle version. Very simple and easy and less stress than when I was able to get my PS5 through Sony Direct.

Excited to try this out as I never tried the Quest or PSVR 1. Good luck to everyone who is looking to snag one.

On the controller charger, do people feel that is worth it? I know it is a different setup than the last time, but I am trying to think if you would need to charge one by one off the USB port or if they would have a more traditional outlet plug in. Seems like a possible mess in choosing on what to charge, switching what you are charging, etc unless I am just not understanding the controller charge process. I did not have the PSVR 1 so not even sure how that one worked either.

Re: PSVR2: All Confirmed Games

Jettstyles

@get2sammyb Did not know how to send to you guys and did not see a news story on it here at PushSquare yet, but I received my pre-order invitation e-mail today for the PSVR 2. I can pre-order starting at 11am EST tomorrow (15th). I cannot post a picture of it in the chat, but wanted to see if you wanted to put a notice out in case people miss it in their junk folders, etc. Pre-order period in the States is from 11am EST on the 15th to the 11:59pm on the 18th. At least for the e-mail I received.

Re: It May Be Time for You to Buy an Arcade Cabinet

Jettstyles

I ordered a custom cabinet a few years back from Dream Arcade. It was pricey, but it had 500 games in it and you can also download any game for any platform that has entered public domain. Covers almost all the older platforms except the newer ones. Atari, NES, Neo-Geo, SNES, Arcade, etc.

I thought of getting one of these for awhile, but I decided to splurge to be sure I had a lot of old games. Nothing cooler than to see someone find an old game on there they played when they were young. I highly recommend getting a cabinet. Just something different than playing on them vs on the TV.

Re: Sony Unveils PSVR2 User Experience, Including See-Through View, Customisable Play Area

Jettstyles

I apologize if this is a really basic or dumb question, but never used the PSVR. When using it, will the screen and audio you see/hear in the headset also appear on the TV screen for others to see/hear you playing? Looking online, there was only a few posts/articles on this, so I wanted to confirm. Seems like it does, but wondered if there were any restrictions to it and if the TV viewer sees everything (including prompts, etc) the player sees.

Re: Dying Light 2 Dev Promises a Whopping 5 Years of Updates and DLC After Release

Jettstyles

They did deliver Dying Light 1 which was in decent shape at launch and was a great game. They also did support the game for a long time and delivered what I considered a very impressive DLC in the Following. Expanded the world a great deal. So, although I will wait and see after some of the recent messes with great reputation developers, Techland has shown a track record of supporting the DL 1 game and delivering great experiences. Just hope we have not all been tainted forever when devs are excited and passionate about their projects because of the recent ones who lied and/or misinformed.

Re: Rejected Days Gone Sequel Would Have Swimming, Better Animals

Looking back, I really loved the early part of the game when you were underpowered. I still remember racing back on the bike to the camp on top of the hill at night and there are zombies everywhere chasing me, barely getting the gate open in time. It was intense, scary, and had me sweating a little. Had not experienced that same scenario too many times in a game.

That is the challenge though...balancing realism with player satisfaction. I hated the running out of gas with the bike at times, but again looking back, it was pretty cool to have to go into a town, find gas, and bring it back. Just hope more games go for this balancing and ignore the noise from players who do not want a challenge as this is so much more realistic...and fun. Great game.

Re: Here's the Obligatory GTA Trilogy PS5, PS4 Bugs and Glitches Compilation

Jettstyles

Game-breaking bugs, no advanced copies provided for review prior to going on sale, frame rate issues, janky animations, no communication of the real features or performance quality, all for a top shelf price....hmmm, this sounds awfully familiar to another developer we all know.

Believe me, I do not forgive CDPR. But, they are not the only dev that needs to be ridiculed and held accountable. Why should R* and the other devs with this janky crap not be taken off the stores to fix it or ripped to threads? I just want all of them to be held to the same standard and R* intentionally stayed quiet as they knew what they had here. And don't say because this is 2002 code. They are selling it at a premium price, so we should expect better.

Re: Talking Point: What Are Your First Impressions of PS5?

Jettstyles

Received mine on the same day as my LG CX 77 was installed. Talk about crazy and awesome timing.

Only tried it for a few hours, but a few of my initial impressions:

  • It is not only big, but it is SOLID. But it did fit in my entertainment console...somehow.
  • Like a few others have said, the UI takes a little to get used to, but it really is slick and feels like a true evolution. Feels next gen. Very snappy, high-end look, and love the ease to get into the game.
  • Was figuring the reviews on Astrobot and the controller may be exaggerated, but wow...what an upgrade from PS4. Everything about it is great. But, the skating...wow, you really do feel you are skating. Bravo to Sony.
  • Miles Morales opening was so well done and only possible with the SSD. Game was literally non-stop for first 30 minutes.
  • The city in MM felt so much more alive...character facial animations will likely still improve over time as they are okay, but the raytracing and active draw distance are awesome.
  • PS Store will take getting used to, but so much better integrated and feeling part of the UI than the PS4.
  • Even running MM in Fidelity mode, never heard a whisper from the PS5. Very quiet.
  • Did I mention the controller is awesome?

Great start Sony.
