Re: Maybe Don't Get Your Hopes Up for Future Bethesda Games on PS5

@Kidfried I think that it would hurt the Elder Scrolls brand as much as putting Spiderman on PS exclusively hurt its brand. Spiderman used to be released on all platforms, and now it’s highly unlikely we’ll see Spiderman on Xbox anytime soon. Sony made it exclusive to drive people to their ecosystem with little regard for how it made Xbox players feel. I would imagine Xbox will do the same thing with the Bethesda IPs. I think that the best case scenario would be timed exclusivity for a year or two, but don’t expect MS to say that it’s timed or for how long when they release games on Xbox. There would be no benefit for them to do so. They rather keep players in the dark on that to help drive players to Game Pass.

@AJDarkstar I think the difference might be that neither Orí nor Cuphead are first party games. The Ori IP might be owned by MS, but Cuphead definitely isn’t. And as for Minecraft, it was already released on everything when MS acquired it. If MS wanted to publish everything everywhere, wouldn’t we see Fable and the initiative game on PS5?

Re: Rumour: Mass Effect Trilogy Remaster Now Planned for Early 2021

I just recently played through the entire trilogy again. ME2 is still my favorite by a decent margin. The character development that game is top notch. ME3 still has a lot of great moments but it has a lot of filler and the less said about the ending the better. ME1 has a great story, but it really is tough to go back to. The Mako levels are aren’t great and even worse if you feel compelled to clear all of the points of interest on every map. The inventory system is horrible. The combat is very awkward. I’m really excited to see if they address all these problems. It’s probably my favorite game franchise.

I think it would be crazy to expect MS to release these games day and date on the ps5 platform. This is a play to drive gamers to Game Pass. Releasing ES6 on ps5 day 1 is counterproductive to that. I mean, they MIGHT put it on ps5 after a year at or two, but don't expect them to say or how long it would be exclusive for. Why would they. Not knowing if or how long a game will be exclusive will drive people to pick up GP to play on pc or xcloud at the very least in a lot of cases. They would probably prefer people to play on pc or xcloud over console, since their consoles lose money.
If Sony wants to push MS to just be a 3rd party publisher, just allow xbox to put GP on the PS5. Then there would be no need for xbox to make consoles anymore. I'm sure they'd happily abandon the hardware game.

Re: The Internet Thinks Microsoft Will Buy SEGA Next

@Rob_230 Two days ago Xbox didn’t have any games, now they have a monopoly. That’s a bit dramatic. I’m sure Xbox would love to have a Japanese presence on their system. I know a lot of people would prefer them to nurture a studio from nothing, but that could take decades. Why do that if they have the money to get a foothold now. That said, I don’t think this is happening. If they did happen to get Sega, people are more than welcome to protest by not buying an Xbox. Personally, I’ll continue to buy all the systems and play all the games.

Re: PS5 Game Install Sizes Revealed, And They're Enormous

@Arugula Personally, I think the 175 gb number is a little high. I think the PS4 OS is like 140 gigs. That said, I think whatever it is will be subtracted from the 825 gb. Consoles have always listed the total hard drive size on the box and not minus the OS. I’d guess around 675 gigs of usable space.
