@Kevw2006 That's also because SONY can't. You honestly believe that SONY, freaking SONY would not buy publishers like Activision or Bethesda if it could? And they would absolutely make all those games exclusive on PS and skip PC as well.
The only reason they are now releasing on PC is because of the success of Microsoft selling its games on PC. Why else did it take Sony so much longer to release its games on PC?
If it is gonna end up being the future of gaming, it would be on consoles because no way PC players will accept it as the norm. The big selling point having your games on PC is being able to alter them. With streaming, you lose all control.
But even then, I do not think console players want this either.
Also the total lack of marketing is strange. I didn't even know either of these released yet. Not even on the Steam front page and I am on Steam every day.
I just find it surprising because I am sure it is a fine game but .... no level editor? That's like the whole point of Little Big Planet! I am sure if they bring down the price and release LBP 1, 2 or 3 or better yet, all of them in a package, the sales would be far better.
I want an extensive level editor game like LBP or Dreams on PC. This game is fine but it is not enough.
Pfff what a load of pants! Even if that were true, who cares if you cheat in single player? Let's be honest here. The real reason is because this way you can extract data on players and see what to offer them in the microtransaction store which you know is gonna be in there.
I said it before and I will say it again. If this doesn't turn out to be a Kojima project, then these developers frankly deserve all the hate that will be coming their way. I do not condone death threats but this is the internet and they should know better. And no, they are joining in on this cause of marketing. You wanna use the hype? Better take the heat.
@DarthDiggler You do not know what a straw man argument is do you? And its really quite simple.
Exclusives are not options. They are in fact the opposite as they force the consumer to opt in a different system just for being allowed to play a game. Ambition doesn't come from just being exclusive. Otherwise all exclusive games would be ambitious simply for being exclusive.
Also what a platform can do these days is very irrelevant. There is no secret tech in these machines. During the PS3 you had the cell and it was so complicated most games didn't utilise its capabilities. That's not the case with these consoles anymore. The reason why these developers make good games is because they are talented at making games and in that sense, for console manufacturers, it is in their best interest to make those games exclusive to sell hardware. I already acknowledged this.
However, that doesn't change the fact that Exclusives are by design anti consumer. They are made to exclude people from your game unless you buy a new machine. That's where the term exclusive comes from in the first place.
And to be clear. I am not saying Sony is anti consumer. Exclusive games on any platform are anti consumer. Why should it matter if I play on a pc or ps4 or switch or Xbox?
Monster Hunter World is the only monster game I actually like. I tried the PSP version, the 3DS version and it just never clicked with me. Ofcourse could be because handheld games are more restricted in terms of hardware. Don't think you can pull this off on a 3DS, Vita ... maybe Switch? I dunno.
The LBP community never ceases to amaze me I was happy making small games on the Vita version and here we have someone building an entirely different game. Amazing.
Just imagine if Dreams ever comes out what people will make then.
I dunno, that seems unlikely. The reasoning of this is beyond stupid though.
You base the assumption entirely on Minecraft? You do know that Minecraft was on PS4, PS3 and PS Vita BEFORE Microsoft bought Minecraft right? What would they do? Make it unavailable to PS Platforms when they got it? That makes no sense. Halo isn't even on PC, let alone soon to be released on PS4.

Re: Baldur's Gate 3 Dev Larian Studios Has No Interest in Being Acquired
That's great but what happens when they offer 50 million bucks?
What happens when you leave and whoever takes over decides to sell the studio?
I really hope they remain independent. Publishers are pointless in today's world and cause more negative press than positive.
I like Jedi Survivor because Respawn, not EA. I like Spiderman because Insomniac, not Sony.
Re: Final Fantasy 16 Is So Polished, It Doesn't Need a Day One Patch
Sad that this should be applauded. Glitches and bugs are always a thing but ever since patch culture, companies have been lazy with their releases.

Re: Soapbox: Sony Needs to Bang Down Valve's Door to Get Half-Life: Alyx on PS5's PSVR
Still play it on PC. I doubt the modding would be on PS5 but the game itself is great.

Exclusives are anti consumer by design.
However, exclusives move hardware so I mean. It is completely understandable why they do it.
