I would've gotten a portal had it not been for the fact that every time I turned it on to 'remote play' my PS5 would turn my TV/monitor on. The PS4 (on remote play iOS app) did not do this even if HDMI-CEC was on - which I will not be turning off. The PS5 needs a code update whereby it knows it is remote playing and not send an HDMI-out signal.
I'm probably in the minority here. I have a PSVR2. If I could use the DualSense controller instead of the PSVR2 Sense controllers with most games, I would use the headset a lot more. That's how I play GT7. The idea of having to 'learn' new controllers/buttons and needing the arm space for them - puts me off (looking at you RE Village). Just give me the option (I'm sure it's harder to give me that option than I think).
70 hrs in - could be my SW fan bias, but this game got a bad rap from the get-go and IMO is a bit over the top. No other game captures the SW feeling like Outlaws. Yes, the stealth could be better. Yes, the combat could be better. But the planets, the vistas, the towns all of it just oozes SW-love and for that it's an 8 for me. A mini-map would be much welcomed.
@somnambulance Debating myself which game to buy SH2 or AW1-2. I don't have much time these days. Enjoyed Control, but the story aspect was hard to keep up with - confusing. Which of these two would you say has the easier to follow story - SH2 or the AWs?
Hey guys/gals - Does anyone know of a way I can find out (maybe even get alerted) when DEMOs are released? Aside from coming here and reading in the comments "the demo was great" I struggle to find which games have demos and when those demos are released. Thanks!
I am still so confused as to what the difference between FF7, FF7 Remake, and FF7 Rebirth are. Not being a huge FF guy, I would imagine there are more like me. I did play and liked 'Remake' but not sure what the story differences are...if any.
When I turn on my portal, will my PS5 turn my monitor on? PS4 remote play feature did not. PS5 remote play feature does. I don't want to turn CEC-HDMI link OFF.
@TheCollector316 Very odd that they got it right w/ PS4 remote play - turning off HDMI signal output on console during remote play sessions, but forgot to do the same w/ the PS5.
@Quintumply I hear you. I'm not sure why Sony was smart enough to code the PS4 to disable the console HDMI output during remote play sessions, but forgot to do the same w/ the PS5.
Haven't read the article, but please answer me this - Currently when I play remotely via my iPad, when I turn my PS5 on remotely, my monitor on my desk also turns on and mirrors my iPad screen. This never happened when I played remotely on my PS4. So, if I'm using the Portal remotely, will my monitor also come on? This is a deal breaker for me and I'm not going to disable CEC-HDMI for it.
I'm always so surprised to see the amount of people who allegedly will not play 30FPS games. "Oh they added support for 60FPS, I'll finally try one of the best games ever made..." To me the difference of 30 frames is not worth missing greatness for.
@RobN Thanks for the info. Might give it go, although the fact that PS5 remote play turns on and mirrors my game play (and audio...WTH?) live on my monitor and speakers is a no-go for me.
Just tried remote play on Remote Play app on my iPad - GoW Rag. Playable? Yes. Smooth? No. Enjoyable? Not really due to lag. PS5 is not hardwired, but I do have Fiber 1G speeds.
Interestingly enough, when I remote play, my PS5 turns on my monitor and anyone can see what I'm playing live on the monitor (for me this is a deal breaker). The PS4 did not used to do this (it 'knew' when remote playing to disable HDMI signal). Quick search seems to reveal is a Sony 'error/afterthought'.
Never played a Diablo game, but this sounds great. Will I be able to finish the campaign SOLO or are these games geared towards multiplayer experiences?
@GamingFan4Lyf I feel ya. However, I'd argue (and I've told my kids this) - once you do something for work/money things begin to change. For me personally it would turn it from an enjoyable hobby to a must do chore to put food on the table. But yeah, I can see those who have a job so fun and fulfilling that it doesn't feel like a job/work. In my 45 years on this planet, I've found that latter group to be the large minority. However, I haven't traveled much, so perhaps I'm wrong.
@Danloaded Completely disagree. Keanu made the game for me a slug. His monotone voice got so annoying I couldn't wait to finish the game. To each their own though.
I got in last night. It happens when you finish building the Seer's hut in your England settlement and drink the elixir that the NPC makes for you. I left soon after arriving in Asgard when I saw it's LVL 90 and I'm at 50. So will return to it at some point.
But how do we find out when certain games will leave the program? With my limited game time if a game like AC Valhalla is leaving soon I rather buy it.
Why PlayStation continues to not enhance things that make it possible for the most people to reap the benefits (FreeSync VRR vs HDMI 2.1 VRR) is beyond me. It 'has' to be to sell more TVs.
Please enlighten me. Seems like SONY purposely made the HDMI 2.1 requirement for VRR in order to sell more TVs. To my knowledge VRR does not require HDMI 2.1 and I've read the XSX actually functions well on HDMI 2.0 w/ VRR. My monitor is 2.0 and as such VRR on my PS5 is greyed out.
@Alpine021 Yes. And that goes to my point. Is not that the game difficulty is hard, is that the developers have chosen to respawn all the enemies you've already killed if, and when, you die. This means you will replay the same sections several times while you learn NOT to die. So really the hard difficulty just means "more patience" needed than your average game.
@get2sammyb Hi newcomer here - long time gamer. So is it that these games are hard or is it that when you die, and you frequently will, all enemies previously killed re spawn.? and since the checkpoints are far and few in between, you replay the same sections several times.
