Decent game but it's far from From's best game in my opinion(I'd put it above...Dark Souls and Dark Souls 2 but below Armored Core VI, Sekiro, Elden Ring, Dark Souls 3 and...Metal Wolf Chaos XD) but I still would love to see it at least be remastered and released on Steam and PS5 so that it gets out of "Stuck on PS4" jail.
I will probably not play Wilds at all. Game just looks meh to me. Kinda wish we had gotten a sequel to Rise instead because that one was amazing on Switch.
I didn't even know there was a State of Play thingy or whatever and looking at what was shown, the only comment I even have is basically "Oh...uhh...ok...why?".
It will most likely be 30 fps on current-gen consoles and that will be fine.
Especially since it's an open-world game that will probably be even more complex than Red Dead Redemption II is.
I could see a potential 1080p 60 FPS mode being added later on though and that would also be fine.
Either way, it's not really shocking "news" that current-gen versions are most likely going to be targeting 30 FPS.
Looks kinda cool but also looks way too much like style over substance for my tastes.
Hopefully they lean into the deflect mechanic more.
But also, there really needs to be more audio-visual feedback from the player character's weapons hitting their targets.
The second phase of the fight looked like it could have potential in terms of challenge though.
They just need to actually make it feel like an actual threat to the player.
I draw my line for game purchases at $63. No game will ever be worth more than that, no matter what and when games do go above, I will wait until they get discounted, FOMO is not an issue. The sweet spot for me tho is and has always been $54.
Still one of the worst Ubisoft games I've ever played, I really don't see a point in remaking it when the first Assassin's Creed game could benefit even more from a remake.
Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance is in first place obviously. Trails through Daybreak is in second place. Granblue Fantasy Relink is in third place. Rise of the Ronin is in fourth place. Romancing SaGa 2: Revenge of the Seven is in fifth place.
I mean...they already confirmed a long time ago that these kinds of collabs would be paid so I don't really get why it needs to be reported on, again. 🤷♂️
@LowDefAl Allow me to clarify a bit: It looks unnecessary...to me. I at least never felt like it was a game that could benefit from being remastered. Not in a world where Killzone 2 deserves the remaster treatment way more than this game.
I know, I know. I'm very much not the target audience for this one but still.
Looks like I'll keep my base PS5 for the forseeable future. I really see no reason for me to upgrade. Most of those upgrades just sound unnecessary for my needs.
Honestly? A PS5 Pro just feels like over-kill in my opinion. I'm satisfied with the base PS5 and see no reason why I would waste money on upgrading to a more powerful version while mine still works as intended.
Didn't watch it(I never watch these things anymore, stopped bothering after E3 2013) so I can't really vote on the quality of the thing but looking at the announcements coming out of Gamescom, it honestly feels like there wasn't any show or such in the first place.
Like, none of the new announcements felt neither exciting nor like they were of interest to me. 🤷♂️
“Knowing that the guy who designed the game engages with its mechanics and uses them, do you think franchise elitists will follow suit? Or is Miyazaki wrong, and the correct way to play the studio's games is to use the latest broken meta-build?”
No, and no. Those are not mutually exclusive. The “right” way to play Elden is what you personally make it to be, not what someone else feels it is. If that’s playing the latest meta builds, great. If that’s enjoying it blind, great. If that’s going through it at rune level 1, great. If that’s playing co-op and using ashes, great. If that’s using status spam or deleting the boss in seconds, great. What matters is the person having fun and not actively trying to impact other people’s enjoyment with their opinion of “the right way”.
Soulslikes are ones where I really appreciate the challenge if it's done right(most FromSoft games nail this aspect pretty well in my opinion), but there are some, like Lords of the Fallen from last year, that just feel like the devs didn't know how to balance the challenge and as a result, fights just felt pretty unfair which made the game pretty boring fast.
When it comes to JRPG's, I generally prefer when they are harder and force you to use your head in order to make progress, Octopath Traveler, SMTIII(and both versions of SMTV), Trails from Zero and Xenoblade Chronicles 2 come to mind for this genre.
Other than these genres, I guess I prefer slightly easier games in general but I will always be happy if a game is challenging from the get-go.
Had been hoping for some form of turn-based combat system(or hell, even a return to the beat 'em up style combat from Dragon's Crown/Odin Sphere would have been greatly appreciated) and instead I get a passive RTS-style army simulator.

Re: Poll: Vote for Your PS5 Game of the Month (March 2025)
Atelier Yumia and The First Berserker: Khazan.
Oh and maybe Atomfall.
Re: Poll: What Are Your Thoughts on Bloodborne, 10 Years Later?

Re: Upcoming PS5 Games for March and April 2025
Not a lot of interesting stuff releasing for a while but I will definitely buy The First Berserker: Khazan and most likely the new Fatal Fury game.
Re: Poll: Are You Playing Monster Hunter Wilds?
I will probably not play Wilds at all.

Re: Embattled US Retailer Trolls Customers for Picking Digital During PSN Outage on PS5, PS4
Oh wow, Gamestop?
That's a name I haven't heard ever since they pulled out of Sweden five years ago.
Thought they had closed down in the US too.
Re: Game of the Month: Vote for Your Favourite PS5 Game of January 2025
Definitely Tales of Graces f Remastered, Dynasty Warriors: Origins and Freedom Wars Remastered.

Nine Sols is the only correct answer. 😁

Re: Slitterhead (PS5) - Inventive Horror Is Essential for Japan Studio Fans
Here's hoping the game actually releases over here in Sweden on the 15th.
I would hate to have to import the game, it would cost more than I'd be comfortable with.
Also, looks like Sweden might not get an Xbox version at all which would suck even more. 😕

Allow me to clarify a bit:
It looks unnecessary...to me.

Not in a world where Killzone 2 deserves the remaster treatment way more than this game.

Oh wow.
This looks...unnecessary as hell.
🤣
Re: Superb Strategy RPG Unicorn Overlord Tops 1 Million Sales
Oh wow.
I had honestly forgotten that this game existed.
😅
It feels like it released, got some coverage, and then most people just moved on and forgot about it.
At least in the circles I move in.

Re: Poll: Are You Playing Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2?
Started playing it today and so far it's pretty great if a bit over-whelming at times.

Re: Dave the Diver Joins Forces with Mxmtoon, Balatro, and Potion Craft in October
I have...kinda not heard of either of these games before now...

Re: 'Rebuilt' Until Dawn Comes to Haunt PS5, PC This October
Wait, this game's getting a remake?
But why?
I mean, sure, it was a fun experience back in 2015 but really feels like this is not needed.
Especially not in a post-The Quarry world.

Re: Poll: Can a Game's Brutal Difficulty Put You Off Playing It?
Depends on the game and genre for me.

Re: PC Players Are Fuming Until Dawn, God of War Ragnarok Appear to Require PSN Logins
Maybe I'm reading the headline of the article wrong but why are they fuming specifically until dawn over God of War: Ragnarök?
Re: Poll: What Review Score Would You Give Unicorn Overlord?
Honestly?
Vanillaware's weakest game so far.
Had been hoping for some form of turn-based combat system(or hell, even a return to the beat 'em up style combat from Dragon's Crown/Odin Sphere would have been greatly appreciated) and instead I get a passive RTS-style army simulator.
