We barely started the PS5 era with the PS4 lurking in the background. Maybe with a new iteration we can finally leave the 11 year old wedge behind.

If I played Fortnite I would want to deck out my character in Primark gear for 200 V Bucks and that would be the end of my spending. No one can see what I was wearing after they have killed me anyway.

Now I know Empire of Ants is being enhanced for the PS5 Pro I will be selling my kid's organs to get the Pro.

Probably so they can charge more for the Pro plates compared to the slim. If you can afford the console you can afford an extra tenner on the plates think Sony.

@Strikke Definitely Square being Square. They could have let them make a Forspoken or Balan Wonderworld episode.

At least we will still have the episode about it on Amazon later this year.

I got caught up in the hype and picked the game up and played for about 30-40 mins and gave up. I may give it another go after the update but I think this game is not for me.

Back to Bloober's games and I think their games are not bad prior to Silent Hill 2 myself.

Complain if it gets DLC and complain if it doesn't. You can't win on the internet.

Be interesting to know what percentage of Pro purchasers also buy the disc drive. I would think the person who buys the top tier console is the sort of person that has a bit of a physical collection.

@AgentGuapo I am not disputing that but if you are travelling at 100 mph you are not really taking in the scenery around you.
If it played PS3 games natively I would be there day one but for shiner games that I won't really notice unless I pause the game doesn't really justify the outlay for me. Each to their own though..I'll wait for a PS6 and hope there is more to it than just flashier graphics and exclusives to get me on board straight away.

@AgentGuapo No one is doubting it is better but is almost double the cost better? I understand the 60 FPS but if you are playing a game requiring lightning reactions that really benefits from the frame rate are you really stopping to look how shiny it all looks.

@idiotthechef Andor was very good and I preferred Rebels over the other animated series. The rest has been pretty meh although the books and comics I have read have generally been better.
I enjoyed Fallen Order but Survivor was just too much of the same for me. I will play Outlaws when they have fixed the game and all the content is done. If they shipped complete games day one I may be more inclined to purchase day one.

The Star Wars label does not immediately grant sales like it used to. The general decreasing quality of the Disney output doesn't help either.

The pleasure we can take from this is that scalpers are going to be out of pocket if they snapped some up hoping to make money.

@Shalooda For me this gen has been about the load times. That was the main reason for the upgrade as the exclusives themselves are rather limited. The DualSense is a nice bonus. The PS6 needs to justify its price with more that just graphics and frame rates to justify a price that high. A disc drive for starters and if it can play all your old discs for PS5, PS4 as well as PS3 then I would be there day 1 for a higher price than the PS5 Pro.

I think the investment in this for the 3-4 years before it is replaced by the PS6 don't really justify the outlay for me. The second hand market for these will be weak unless the cost of the PS6 is ridiculous and not backwards compatible.

I will wait until the PS6 in a few years. They will probably stop making games for the PS4 by then. I'll use my money for a Switch 2 in the meantime. Seems like Sony rush out their Pro consoles a few months before the Switch and Switch 2. That combo this time is going to be approaching double the price of the PS4 Pro plus Switch combo.

Should have made it available to accounts that had at least 5 years PS Plus subs. That would stop the scalpers.

I don't care about the character I play in a game as long as it is enjoyable.
On character creation screens I just cycle through 3 or 4 random creations and roll with it. I do like them to have blue hair if that is an option though.

12394 would have been a better number for the PS5 Pro consoles bundles.

Hoping for a Bloodborne remaster reveal so everyone can move on to the next remaster we are all hankering for, the Knack duology!

@get2sammyb The PS6 will be a thing and likely a PS7 as long as the PS6 sell like the PS5 but the handheld PS6 is the rumour here. Hoping it's not just a PS Portal 2.

The PS5 Pro is now announced so the rumour mill moves on to the next big thing.

At least they won't be charging for the PS5 Pro upgrades on these remasters.
He doesn't state it is a PS4 game explicitly, just implied, so we can hope it is a slightly older game.

I'll stick with the free PS4 version from a couple of years ago that they gave away.

I am looking forward to playing PS4 games on the PS6.

@LuXifer I thought exactly the same. Either that or when the bosses left they pulled a Jerry Maguire and they all Renee Zellwegered (don't know her characters name as it isn't in the movie title).

I can't see the PS5 Pro selling that many units by that time unless the cost of the PS6 is ridiculous or it doesn't release until around 2029.

It's an increase of 80% in the UK over the digital PS5 slim and 67% with the disc drive versus the disc version.

@Golem25 It looks like The Crew 2 is currently 79p in the UK so worth picking up now.

Technically the Pro is cheaper than a lot of people paid for a launch PS5. I can't see scalpers being able to double the retail price of one of these though.

If it was aimed at the hardcore audience it should have included a disc drive.

I hope they show Concord running on it.

@jrt87 I'd like to think they would give it another go as F2P but you are probably right.

Maybe a F2P relaunch around that time will be the best chance this has at a second life.

Live service games are like your local pub. You occasionally go to different pubs and dabble in the new ones that open, a rarity these days, but you always go back to what and who you know.

If they go F2P it won't cost much to refund the 25000 who bought it I guess. Has the game actually got much in the way of microtransactions to make money though?

Why bother with this when you see the sales of PS vs Xbox and it is at best for Xbox 10% vs 90% for PS?

Most people who are caught by this will still shell out for the next early access game from Ubisoft as the FOMO is just too strong.
I assume the update will give them a message saying this or there will be a lot of people who just blindly carry on.

The deal was you can do an episode of God of War as long as you do one for Concord.

Those that plan on playing it later down the line are hopeful unless that later is before the end of this year.

8 years to develop and it will likely be dead within a year of release. Seems like a waste of time to me.
