Re: Opinion: The Euphoric Reaction to PS6's Rumoured Delay Really Confuses Me

I don't feel like the PS5 is showing its age, and I don't think it will in the next two years. That's why I'm more than fine with a 2028 or 2029 release.
I do worry that the specs for the PS6 have been dialed in and that we'll be getting 'outdated' tech in 2028/29. Maybe still better than having to pay PS5 Pro prices for the base PS6 because of RAMmageddon.
I do feel the first-party lineup is still lacking compared to previous generations, partly because Ryan put all his eggs in live-service games that have either failed or been cancelled. On a side-note, my most-played game this gen is a PS4 game that still hasn't been updated for current-gen, Rocket League.

I am also a bit wary of Sony's hardware releases lately. They’ve done many things right, but PSVR2 has been all but abandoned, the DualSense still has stick-drift problems, the PS5 Pro is very expensive for a marginal upgrade, not including a vertical stand feels petty, and the console covers are overpriced for what is essentially just plastic.

Re: Reactions to Stupid Call of Duty Skins May Make Dev Tone Down Black Ops 7

Call of Duty is a parody of itself these days, and the skins in the Vault Edition are a clear idication of how this will continue. Watched a friend play COD Mobile and unsurprisingly it's even worse there – much, much worse. The name is the only thing these games still have in common with what used to be an authentic military shooter, the travesty they have become is a real shame.

All games should have an option to display only standard skins. There will undoubtedly be plenty of skins in Battlefield 6 that feel completely out of place for the setting. I'm tired of soldiers looking like they’ve been styled by fashion designers.

Someone tell the EU that showing custom skins in-game is a predatory tactic designed to entice children into spending money on cosmetics. Maybe then they’ll pass a law requiring a setting to disable them.
