The hardcore Call of Duty community has had enough of the ridiculous skins Treyarch has put into Black Ops 6 over the past year, and now it seems the developer will finally take that into consideration for updates in Black Ops 7.
Speaking to IGN, associate creative director Miles Leslie clarified that the studio is aware of the backlash and has been discussing the matter internally. Touching on the purchasable skins, Leslie said the following:
"We always try to make sure that we are trying to touch the widest audience. I've had the pleasure of working on Call of Duty now for almost 20 years, and we're constantly looking at ways to push into different audiences and fans, and that's what you saw with that; there are fans that really love it."

The decision to include celebrities and media properties beyond video games has seen the likes of Nicki Minaj, Snoop Dogg, Lionel Messi, and Beavis and Butt-head all appearing in Call of Duty multiplayer matches. Leslie at least admits these kinds of skins may not be every fan's favourite.
