Re: Sony Says Devs Only Have to Ask for Console Cross-Play, Studios Say It's Lying

@mrobinson91 You're right, I'm awful and name calling should never be resorted to. This is one of those topics that causes me to fly off the handle but I'm not making an excuse on my detestable behavior. But it's such a clear-cut, one-sided argument. The pros far outweigh any potential cons, to the point that the cons are barely even worth mentioning. I shouldn't be able to say "Nintendo is doing this online feature way better than Sony is" considering how much more of a selling point Online play is supposed to be for PS4 compared to the Switch. It's nothing short of pathetic that PlayStation is essentially the face of the industry yet is so behind on a feature that is becoming an industry-standard, like it or not. Just like it's pathetic that the Switch still doesn't have even the most basic communication features i.e. messaging, party chat. Just like it's pathetic that I can't play F2P games on Xbox One like Fortnite or Smite without Xbox Live Gold yet I can on Ps4, Switch, and PC without a subscription

@AdamNovice I've heard all the counter-arguments. They're invalid. Largely because they originate from mental gymnastics about potential cheaters and toxic communites. Neither of which have been issues since Rocket League launched on PS4 with PC crossplay (funny how Sony fanboys were singing praises when this launched but feel the opposite now). And if either of these things became a concern, I can go into the settings and simply choose to play on PS4-only servers. You know, instead of NOT HAVING THE OPTION AT ALL. Again, you are objectively a moron if you are against the OPTION of cross-play 😊

@Fight_Sora_Fight Odd. The sentence, "EA have literally just come out and confirmed that no one really demands [crossplay] for their games." is equivalent to the sentence, "The Chum Bucket has literally just come out and confirmed that no one really demands better seating." It isn't indicative whatsoever of the industry-wide demand for crossplay or the supposed lackthereof. Because the vast majority of EA's customers are casual-gamers who buy FIFA and Madden annually and have probably never heard of cross-play.

The only people who don't want cross-play are objectively unintelligent. And people who think Shawn Layden is telling the truth here are the dumbest of the dumb; he's absolutely, undeniably lying even if he himself doesn't know it. But by all means, Sony can continue their streak of being the most anti-consumer platform-holders and morons will continue to eat it up. Such an ugly circle-jerk

Re: Just What Is The Order: 1886 Dev's Deformers All About?

@xX_RiscazZ_Xx "Already looks more promising than the Order ever did" I said what I meant and I meant what I said. From the outset, The Order didnt look like a game that was worth playing. I was right. I never got excited from the trailers because the game didnt look that fun and it didn't look like anything that I couldn't get on previous gen consoles, gameplay-wise (no real innovation). So, again, "Already looks more promising than the Order ever did"

I usually tend to start games on the highest difficulty allowed due to trophies; I learned my lesson with The Last of Us to try and do as few playthroughs as possible. In doing so, I think it's made me a much more competent gamer and I gained a more intimate understanding of how game design and mechanics work in order to proceed. Altough, in retrospect, I'm glad I started on Normal with TLOU of all games.

Re: Bethesda Speaks Out: Sony Will Not Allow Fallout 4 or Skyrim Mods on PS4

@adf86 Actually, no. He was right. The ball is most definitely in Nintendo and Microsoft's court now. Sony just showed their hand for the next two years (unless they're foolish enough to release even more iterative hardware in that time) and relatively few people are impressed with what they've presented. Meanwhile, most gamers are too smart to be suckered in by these half-gen moves so a lot are saving their hype and money for hardware that will actually be worth the upgrade like NX or Scorpio. Sounds a lot like history repeating itself cough cough Sega 32x cough cough Atari Jaguar CD cough People seem to think these mid-gen upgrades are a new concept but the idea has been around for well over 20 years.
