Re: Kids Aren't Dreaming of Owning a PS6, Says Netflix Games Boss

Meh, just because 30 million downloads were made doesn’t mean that even 5% of those people played it to any degree. That’s the nature of subscription models.

I don’t know any more though. My daughter is in college and adores her Switch and certain Nintendo IPs, but she is already far older than the demographic the interviewee is referring to.

@Voltan they learned from any subscription service since the advent of subscription services. You don’t need to entice existing subscribers unless they begin to show an unexpected level of churn. Loyalty doesn’t mean anything to a company. Never has, never will

Re: Ex-Sony Boss Shawn Layden Explains How to Make Games Faster, Cheaper

I may be late to the party on reading this one, but I’m glad I did.
I couldn’t agree more with what he said. I mean, each and every point quoted in the article sounds 100% on the money. These ideas sound right out of a Nintendo playbook and why they have continued to be successful during this time. Think about how refreshing and interested people are with the new Zelda game or Mario Wonder. These games aren’t anywhere near as expensive to make or take up100’s of gb of space.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 519

Was playing Rebirth, downloaded Sifu.
Would I rather chase down a chocobo in order to progress the story or kick some tail?
Yeah it was all Sifu this weekend. I’ll get back to Rebirth, but I’m stuck in the Sifu loop. First game I wanted to just keep getting better and better at in a long time.

Re: God of War Ragnarok Still 'Coming This Year', Says Dev

@Grumblevolcano being that the first GoW came out in April, and other giant titles like LoU 2 in June, Horizon in Jan, i don’t think that is the case.
They definitely don’t care about a cross release with CoD, GoW will stand on its own and sell in any environment, against any potential competitors.

Re: Sony: The Pipeline of Games for PS5 Is Just Fantastic

@Integrity Bethesda and Microsoft also have had a close working relationship over the years. All the way back to Morrowind for the original Xbox (not to mention PC).
In other words, the environment of the acquisition is more similar to Sony's acquisitions than not.
