I was in high school when the original released, and the crude but cute character models and the tinny but glorious soundtrack gave it something of the quality of an animated music box. I’m tempted by this, but fear that it would corrupt my memories of automaton Cloud & co.
Ryan’s statement, “we believe in generations” etc. is without sure or precise meaning, so it’s hard to consider it misleading exactly. It’s a far cry from “our promise to PS5 purchasers is that all PS5 games will be developed from the ground up for that system.” This is all academic for me until I can purchase a PS5 of course.
@ThomasHL Absolutely right. Like many, I have some prejudice against scalpers, but I have to recognize that, despite having disposable income, a PS5 isn’t worth $800 to me yet—makes some sense that the units are going to those to whom they’re worth $800 rather than to me.
@RudeAnimat0r I want Lizard Cube to re-skin every classic game dear to my heart—Turtles in Time, SFIII, etc. to infinity. Dragon’s Trap was beautifully done.
I know some have pixel-art fatigue, but this looks nice. I’m intrigued by the combat and movement mechanics—not many of even the best retro-inspired games innovate much in these terms.
@Nah900 —You’re right of course. If anyone wants to know more about what freedom of speech is, and what it is not, a good place to start is Virginia v. Black, 538 U.S. 343 (2003).
To answer whether conservative opinion is suppressed by hate speech rules, you would want an uncontested definition of “hate speech,” and empirical data. This isn’t something to be settled here.
Concern about definitions is nothing new. “Through the Looking Glass“:
'When I use a word,' Humpty Dumpty said, in rather a scornful tone, 'it means just what I choose it to mean — neither more nor less.'
'The question is,' said Alice, 'whether you can make words mean so many different things.'
'The question is,' said Humpty Dumpty, 'which is to be master — that's all.'

Re: PS5, PS4 JRPG Monochrome Mobius Journeys West in September
I’m dying—that stentorian opening, then the cut away to show the main character riding on a duck-dinosaur.
Re: PS4 Games That Need a PS5 Patch
Got my hands on a PS5 at last in the middle of playing RDR2. 60fps would be nice, but for now I’m just pleased with improved loading times.
Re: Aussies Can Win This McDonald's Themed PS5 Controller
@HuJack007 Have to admit, my immediate thought was “boy this doesn’t make up for police lockdowns.”
Re: Solar Ash Skates to PS5, PS4 on 26th October
The music and the protagonist’s standing in that hand made me think of Gris.
Re: PS5 Scalpers Frustrate and Upset Sony Boss Jim Ryan
The first console I’ve had trouble buying is the first one that’s available online only.
