Re: Gears of War: E-Day Is Not Coming to PS5, Xbox Confirms Console Exclusivity

Briarback

@get2sammyb
True. But we all know Sony is pulling the handbrake hard because they care THE MOST about exclusivity out of all (except Nintendo). They have sold more than they should have on PC considering how late in the games' life cycles they have released said games on PC.. Microsoft often releases day 1 on all platforms these days. Personally i think it was a good move going multiplatform, more games for more people. But when Sony and Nintendo CLEARLY aren't following, why should MS keep at it full time??

Obviously, everyone getting all games on all platforms is not going to happen anytime soon. So i think MS HAS to start with exclusives again if they wanna save the Xbox brand (i respect what Phil did in the beginning, and i truly believe that he is a gamer and a fan, but leadership should have changed sooner.. Although i'm sure higher ups forced his hand more than once..)

I'm not sure MS can save "Xbox", but i sure hope they can. I own all consoles (including the PS5 Pro) and game 50/50 on PC (and GamePass PC) and the consoles.

What i do know though, is that the PS community is by far the most toxic out of all, sadly. Especially on this site, and especially about anything Xbox. "Gamers", yeah, sure..

Re: PS5 Fans Want Trophy Upgrades After Xbox Improves Achievements

Briarback

@tangyzesty

Xbox does have a nice crispy sound effect and animation though when you get a rare achievement. Apparently that gets even sexier now.

As I mentioned before, when I get a 50 GS achievement on Xbox, I immediately know its worth, since the game has 1000 GS in total. If I get a bronze or silver trophy for example, it doesn't tell me much.. The game can have 15 silver trophies or it can have 6.. Sure, it's silver, and it should be worth more than bronze, but... Yeah..

MS' system standard with 1000 Gamerscore for all games (this can be added to after DLC etc.) is brilliant. And you always see your collected Gamerscore compared to the total ie: "640/1000" or "725/1200". It's brilliant. I'll die on that hill 😂

Love my PS5 Pro and Portal though (don't shoot me!).

Re: PS5 Fans Want Trophy Upgrades After Xbox Improves Achievements

Briarback

Personally, I find the the biggest weakness to trophies, is that there isn't a fixed number (or values) of them for all games.. The most brilliant thing Microsoft did with the achievement system, was that they set a standard of 1000 GS (Gamerscore) per game. Then ofc, one achievement can be 10GS or 100GS or whatever. But if you have 700/1000 GS, you immediately know that you've collected quite a lot. I know you can see percentage of trophies gathered, but it still doesn't trigger the same kind of feelings for me..I've really tried, but I've always found MS's system far superior. Shame they've basically thrown the Series S/X under the bus lately. But I still gather 'chievs on PC though.

I've sold my Series X and do most console gaming on the PS5 Pro (and Switch 2), 50/50 console/PC gaming. Just a shame I find the trophy system so boring somehow

Re: 'We're Only Talking About the PS5': Saros Director on Cancelled PC Port Reports

Briarback

@Axelay71

Ok? OFC we do! But they release the games so far after their original console release! And i know several people that own both a PS5 and a gaming PC. I've bought several "PS5" games on PC, Helldivers 2 and Stellar Blade being two of them. The Horizon games and Death Stranding being a couple more. I would have bought more if they released them sooner. But now it seems like they won't release them at all.. It's like they're going backwards, and i don't like it.

Re: 'We're Only Talking About the PS5': Saros Director on Cancelled PC Port Reports

Briarback

@AdamNovice

I think the amount of people that bought it on PC is the amount you can expect when you release a popular game on PC a couple of YEARS after it's original release on console.. I own both a PS5(Pro) and PC (amongst other consoles, etc.) and i obviously bought it on PS5 on release. I was tempted to buy it again on PC, but felt it wasn't worth it.

Sony could sell a TON more on PC if they released the games day 1 on PC (like Helldivers 2), but they're so afraid of their exclusivity.. Sigh.. They don't even have MS to compete with anymore. Even if upcoming Sony games would release on PC and could be played on Microsoft's upcoming PC/Console hybrid (not really, it's just a PC), that would still be 1-2 years after they have released already on PS5. Sony's being greedy and small minded. But sure, keep them games locked down Sony. Personally i think it's a real shame. I've bought several Sony games on PC ('cause my PC is more powerful than my PS5 Pro). I guess i won't be, going forward.

Re: Study Claims Sony's PS5 Games Are Leaving Big PC Sales on the Table

Briarback

@Sanquine

ROFL, please!
Please take the first time machine you can find and travel from 2001 back to 2026, please..

PC piracy was semi-big back in the day, but these days? Naaaaw... And please stop putting all PC players in the same box, please. It's apparent that you're a console (PS5?) only "gamer". Personally i game on most things, but mostly PS5, Switch 2 and PC (Windows and Linux) these days.

PC Piracy is not big at all these days (i can bet my house on that), plus, several of today's biggest releases are online games. And the great single player games sell like hotcakes on PC. The reason Sony's games sell less on PC is OBVIOUSLY because they release them so far after they release them on PS5. Still they've sold plenty on PC. Look at Helldivers 2 for example, released day 1 on PC, sold and melted away like BUTTER in direct sunlight. Man, pushsquare never disapoints in showing me that there is still a place where die-hard fanboys/girls thrive and prosper. Man, be a gamer instead. More games to more people, yes please!

Edit: I saw that someone mentioned that some of Microsoft's games also struggle on Steam. Yeah, they should when they release day 1 on GamePass.. I know several of those games have had gamer numbers in the million(s) on GamePass in the first week. But all people look at are NON-official Steam charts of players numbers, yeah.. Great! Gamepass still has 30-40 millions subscribers, obviously the big hitter games are gonna get played by a whole bunch of people on Gamepass. And yeah, Gamepass obviously impact sales (especially of the bigger AAA games), but apparently Microsoft think that it's worth it.. And maybe it is.

Re: Sony Goes Silent on Social Media for Over 72 Hours as Fans Turn Feral Following Bluepoint Closure

Briarback

@Alps_Stranger

Indeed. Complete corporate BS. It's Sony's own fault for destroying Bluepoint. Forcing them to develop a god damn live service GoW, then shut it down, then shut the studio down.

I'm so pissed I'm contemplating selling my PS5 Pro and Portal, and just go PC and Switch 2. I've already sold my Series X. It feels like I can't stand by Sony, nor Xbox. I'm terrible sick of'em both. 😡

Re: Overwatch Ditches the 2, Launches 5 New Heroes in Blizzard's Bid to Revive the Shooter

Briarback

@Divergent95

Man I REALLY wanted to love Marvel Rivals. I love Overwatch and I love Marvel/DC/Superheroes/comics in general etc. etc. etc.

But...

There's something about Rivals that feels off.. It doesn't have the same punch in the hits and so on, as Overwatch. There's also something floaty about the animations and general feel of the game.. Somehow I also prefer first person in games like this.

But yeah.. I haven't completely given up on Rivals though. I'll make another try at it. But I feel OW is so much better in almost every way.

Also, Rivals do feel very Chinese.. and I don't mean that in the *Black Myth: Wukong" great kind of way..

But .. I'll give it another go, eventually.

Re: Overwatch Ditches the 2, Launches 5 New Heroes in Blizzard's Bid to Revive the Shooter

Briarback

@Toot1st
Same here! Active since day 1, still love it to bits! I'm ultra psyched for this 🤩🥳 And yeah, even more maps would have been sweet! But man, 5 new heroes in the same week? Unheard of 🥳

I do hate that the best skins are behind an absurdly high paywall though.... I usually buy the season pass, but I hate that that's not enough to get the best stuff. But I love everything else. But yeah. F them for going the micro transaction way as hard as they did.

Re: Going Platinum #1: Rocket League

Briarback

@Veritas7Ax

500 plats??? 👀💀
Wtf. Nice (I think?).

I mean. I game tons as well (since the mid 80’s), but I have my ’chievs split between Trophies and GamerScore (Xbox). I have a couple plats, and a bunch of ”1000/1000 GS”. But nowhere near 500! Then again, sadly I find not that many games keep me around much after I’ve completed them. Plus I often find myself stuck playing the same MP games forever, taking up time (Overwatch 2 have taken up way too much time). But I do play a whole bunch of SP games as well, sadly not enough to plat many.

But out of those 500 plats you got, how many are cheap ”10 min to plat” games? Be honest 😂

Re: Halo Infinite Is in Fact Finite, Dev Focusing on Campaign Evolved for PS5

Briarback

@Korgon
Yeah, i loved Infinite as well! I mean, the game even scored really well. But it became popular to hate on it. I love when people that either haven't even played it, or barely have played it, tell us how bad it is..

The game was great on day 1 for me (i'm talking the campaign here). I revisited it earlier this year, and it was still great fun.

Off topic: That headline.. Man, Sammy's fanboyism again shines through. I promise that the Halo remake's focus isn't on PS5 first and foremost. Out of all the single-platform centric sites, this one is the worst when it comes to fanboyism.

Re: Action Game Lost Soul Aside Improves with New PS5, PC Patch

Briarback

@PuppetMaster

Why would they update their score? A game gets a score when reviewed, most often at release. Considering how buggy and broken many games are at release these days, sites like Pushsquare would have to rewrite a TON of reviews if they were to "update the score" every time a game gets fixed.. (It should be "fixed" when it's released, not in the months/years after release). If a game gets improved though, that's another matter, but you still obviously don't go and rewrite a review and alter the score, lol.

Re: Even More Ex-Xbox Executives Speak Out About 'Tension' of Game Pass

Briarback

@LogicStrikesAgain

You mean like how Sammy is implying stuff at the end of the article, after he just "posted quotes" — "Ultimately, we think it’s probably safe to say that while Xbox Game Pass does represent great value, it’s not the future of gaming, as was hypothesised at the start of the generation."

Personally, i own a PS5 Pro, PS Portal, Series X, Switch 2, Steam Deck, RTX 5070 Ti W11 PC and a bunch of older stuff. I game on everything, and hate fanboyism — And Pushsquare are the worst in that regard, that is just how it is, even compared to other "one platform sites" like PureXbox and NintendoLife. And Sammy is probably the worst of them all, sadly. I really like several of his articles, and i visit this site daily, but some of the stuff just reeks of fanboyism, in a bad way.

And i am not saying this in defense of Microsoft, at all. I generally love GamePass, but i also thinks it de-value games a bit, and i love buying and reselling physical games. So yeah, i do not love everything about GamePass. At the same time i think Sony could step it up a bunch of notches with their subscriptions..... I pay for PS Premium, but it is not really worth it to be honest. Nintendo need to step it up the most, their whole online infrastucture and their online subscription are so dated it almost hurts.
