I put together a completely new PC build for that game 🤩🤩🤩 a PC with a core2 duo 2,66ghz CPU btw. And 2gb ram. I don't remeber the gpu, but it was 512mb. It kicked ass 😂

Yes! Fortunately most games support ultra wide. So stupid that a game such as Ace Combat 7 doesn't. I dunno why I felt a need to mention that 😂

I had to wait maybe 10 days before retailers got them. €120,- I think it was. And I had promised to not buy that damn console in the first place 😂 unfortunately I'm the perfect target consumer for exactly that type of product 🤷‍♀️

Yes. I saw that. I just think Nintendo are less at risk, because they focus on so few products. SONY make receivers, TVs, speakers and such. Of course I don't think either company have any intentions of leaving the console market. But Nintendo won't be anywhere near bankruptcy because one console fails. Even by the time of the N64, they didn't do too hot. Neither did the gamecube. They've always been a bit hit and miss, but always recoup their losses in the end. Same with Ninty stock. They always bounce back.

No, I didn't. I just thought you were wrong. But I might be wrong instead. I just remember reading what a gigantic financial reserve Nintendo was sitting on, so I maybe falsely assumed that Nintendo could afford a few missteps here and there. So can Microsoft, obviously. They just don't seem too focused on remaining competitive in the console hardware market.

Then I have no idea. I did, and the difference was huge. It's like texture filtering gets vastly improved on fine details and edges. The smudgy look was gone in an instant.

Turn off the cinematic filter

Weather the game rund PSSR or FSR3 isn't that big of a deal. The game changer now, is disabling the cinematic camera. That on its own makes a huge difference. The game now runs great and looks much better. I suspect the cinematic filter was messing with the upscaler.

Wow. I had no idea I played an unfinished, nigh unplayable game. Incredible that they managed to turn things around, and make it an emotional experience. But...point taken. Never ever buy naughty dog games until they're 1½ generation old.

They could ban that sh1t for everyone on the planet, for all I care.

I'm already playing the 40fps mode. 40fps is so much better than 30. If the pro just does the same thing at 60fps, then cool. But not that impressive.

Yes. The reason being the ongoing console war. I am pretty uncool with SONY as of late. But plenty of third party games make really good use of the dual sense controller. Plenty of games make an effort to look and run great on PS5. Devs love it. The people complaining the most about a lack of games are nerds like us, on both teams.

First, almost nobody could get a PS5 on day one. Let alone for €500,- so don't pretend that was normal. I had to wait a year, and buy a bundle with a game and controller, for €870,-.
Second, no, you won't get €500,- for your PS5pro in 3 or 4 years. You don't need to cry? Wow. Such a big boy. But it sure does seem like you need to rub your own luck in other people's faces, and pretend like that's what it was like for everybody.

Yeah. They can still take turns sucking each other off. A disc drive is in fact €120 everywhere near me. A PS5pro with a disc drive is gonna cost €1.000 and it sucks. Can I just not buy it? Sure. Can they just keep doing it? Sure? I totally see the PS6 being a €600 machine or maybe even €700.

No can do. My home cinema is literally in a separate building adjacent to my house. But it's all good. I have my PC hooked up to a 34" ultra wide 🤷‍♀️

Yes. The first one really does need a fresh coat of paint. It's from that weird time where games will still run on windows, but with no support for even 16:9 let alone 21:9. I tried it on steam deck. Not good 😂

I loved the first one. Setting, atmosphere and both score and soundtrack. I am 100% going to play this. The state and look of it will decide if I'll get it on console or PC. Although in this particular instance, nostalgia is pulling me towards PC.

It's just more than I can justify. I could skip the drive, but then I'd be skipping all the games I own on disc. Petty as it may be, I hope this machine fails miserably.

It should have been included at that price.

I got to play as a black dude in Origins and Watchdogs 2. Couldn't they have just made this an Asian setting with an asian cast? It just feels so forced and wokey dokey for the sake of it.

How about some last gen titles? Arkham Knight, Mad Max, Ace Combat 7 (that one should have a VR2 patch!)

The last games I truly enjoyed, were New Dawn and Origins

30 years ago, disc drive was standard

Good thing many modern TV's do great 30 to 60fps interpolation while keeping both visual artefacts and latency penalty to a minimum. Game mode plus on Samsung TV' is a good example. The perfect solution to the problem for a whole lot of single player 3rd person games. Flagship TV's can do so much of what the PS5 pro offers. Faking 60fps on any 30fps game will improve image quality radically, basically rendering the PS5pro all but virtually indistinguishable visually speaking. It'll have the fast 16ms response time and better ray tracing. But that is it.

No and yes. No. The CPU is the bottleneck. Yes. Most people notice the difference between 30 and 60fps.

I sit 9 ft from an 85". I want as much horsepower as possible. Plenty of games could use it. Every UE5 game is gonna love this machine.

I didn't mention any conspiracy. And it didn't perform poorly either. Why do you seem butt hurt because I'm capable of understanding his perspective. I loved the game. Many did, no matter how mediocre you've decided it is.

I'd be pissed off too. I like Astro bot. It's got nothing to do with that. But SONY f@%king this guy over, and killing off what could have been a brilliant sequel, just to use the protagonist to promote a game they DID green light. It's just adding insult to injury. They take away his baby and post it in a baby's game. Or. That's how he feels. And I can appreciate that.
