Upcoming anime open world NTE: Neverness to Everness will take full advantage of the PS5 Pro, supporting PSSR2 to ensure a “shimmering-free, stable 4K output at a silky-smooth 60Hz”.
That’s according to a new PS Blog post on the upcoming PS5 console exclusive, which also reveals the title will leverage Sony’s supercharged hardware to deliver “higher internal rendering resolutions and add advanced effects like volumetric fog and Distance Field Ambient Occlusion”.
Volumetric fog should be fairly self-explanatory, but Distance Field Ambient Occlusion is effectively a technique that results in more accurate, subtle shadowing and shading as it takes into account the full extent of a 3D scene.

We played the pre-release beta for this game on a base PS5 and were really impressed with the overall fluidity of the experience and presentation; it’s lightyears ahead of Tower of Fantasy, which was made by the same team, but was ported to consoles by Perfect World and not the original dev studio.
DualSense Also Fully Supported on PS5

Writing on the PS Blog, producer Kee Zhang also confirmed that NTE will take full advantage of the DualSense in the following ways:
- Haptic Feedback
- Feel the weight of every combat strike and the intensity of key story moments through precision vibrations.
- Adaptive Triggers
- Experience the physical resistance of braking and the surge of acceleration as you drive through the city.
- Light Bar Effects
- We’ve integrated unique light bar effects for specific characters – we’ll let you discover those for yourself at launch.
NTE held a livestream this weekend confirming a Persona 5 Royal collaboration, first-person dating, and a ton more content which will be available day one when this title launches on 29th April.
