Resident Evil Requiem PS5 Flying Off Shelves, Now at 6 Million Sales

Pretty sure they game will sell even more copies once they release a gold edtion after they are done with all the DLC. Anyway Huge congrats to Capcom for making such an amazing game (will def be a GOTY contender).

I'm close to finishing my second playthrough. One of the most impressive games on the Pro.

I’ll just wait for it to go to Plus, the horror/action title is not a true survival horror. More like RE6 with a spattering of 7. Either make a horror game or a shooting zombie game, not both.

Man, if only Capcom horror games like Haunting Ground, Clock Tower 3, or Dino Crisis 1 & 2 sold well like RE 😔

Anyway. Those 6 millions make RE series close to 190 million copies. Impressive.

Now on my 2nd playthrough, and these sales numbers are well deserved.

It wasn't perfect - a couple of the 'cameos' were almost throwaway, but unlike a lot of RE games I didn't think any area overstayed it's welcome, plus it really did add a lot of great ideas (particularly to Zombies / virus enemies).
I also thought it went back to RE roots with a lot of horror.

Pro enhancements were really excellent too - a real showpiece.

I still massively enjoyed the game but I think the fear of negative feedback from a vocal minority of Leon megastans/the survival horror enthusiasts just meant the final product is kind of wonky and all over the place tonally

Its definitely a much better game than 6 but I think the comparison is actually fair

@LordAinsley @Bunchesopuppies While you are totally within your right to critise the game, I see the whole "RE is no longer survival anymore" I find this interesting because I personally thought they started doing this all the way back with RE3 Nemesis, I mean just look how action orientated is was compared to 2. I will forever stand by and say Grace's section are the RE it's been since the RE1 remake on the gamecube.

@Oram77 My issue is within a single title smashing back and forth between flaming chainsaw battles and quips and slowly creeping through a flooded basement with a giant monster chasing you gives you whiplash and makes the experience wonky.

I dont have a problem with the series embodying different styles

I thoroughly enjoy the more action oriented titles as well as the more survival horrory ones, but I think theres a better way to go about it then sort of smashing them together in one title

I am in the last area and overall a bit dissapointed tbh and think Village is easily a better game. But still glad it's selling well. My favourite Top 3 franchise. I genuienly screamed at the surprise in RPD.

There is no way a remake of Dino Crisis selling less than 5 million with the same care of RE remakes.

It looks incredible really. I still can't believe how awesome Leon looks in every area.

@LordAinsley I think RE9 was made to try and please all sides of the fandom (and mostly succeeded) with the blending of tones/styles. From the look of things Capcom are being very expiremental with the new main line games (which is a good call imo) and playing it safe with the remakes. So who knows what style RE10 will be, but gun to my head if I had to pick one it would be a full Grace style game.

Thoroughly deserved and it's up there with my favourite entries of the series. The blend of survival horror and action works for me and the survival horror side is as good as it's ever been in the series, with a great location and a brilliant evolution of the traditional zombies. They even resurrected the zapping system somewhat from RE2 as Leon and Grace share some resources across the care home, you can even bring Leon in sooner to deal with some enemies to make Grace's life easier.

I've enjoyed 3 playthroughs so far and insanity mode is probably my go to mode now (without infinite weapons), which itself makes Leon's sections closer to survival horror as you really have to think about how to use your resources and options

i liked this game a lot but i still think re2 and 3 remake are better games.
the story is pretty ass, and the game is really linear, even though it gives the illusion of exploring the care center pretty well.
the bosses are nothing special, the only fun one is the general in insane difficult.
i want a really scary resident evil, not round kicking and parry everything that moves, i mean when you play as leon you feel bad for the zombies and the lickers haha.
but that`s the problem with wanting to appeal to a larger audience.

Well deserved and its great seeing the series reach these heights.

@Oram77 I agree with you, I've come to this comment section off the back of finishing RE2 (again) and even that one leans towards action much of the time, giving Claire copious amounts of grenade rounds. For me Requiem is a perfect blend of the 2 and Grace's sections were great. Even Leon on insanity makes resource management important and even avoiding some battles

Well deserved. I loved the game! Leon’s sections could have been better with less bullet sponge zombies but overall the most fun I’ve had with resi since 2005.
