Is there a PS5 Slim? When will Sony release the PS5 Slim? How much will the PS5 Slim cost? What is the PS5 Slim release date? Sony has already revealed the standard PlayStation 5 console as well as the digital-only counterpart, but what about a slim model? As part of our PS5 guide, we're going to reveal whether there will be a PS5 Slim or not. Is There a PS5 Slim?
While it has announced the standard PS5 and another version without a disc drive, Sony has not confirmed a PS5 Slim is in production. However, since every single PlayStation home console has at some point received a slimmer and updated model, it is highly likely that a PS5 Slim will launch at some point. It won't be available during the initial launch period though.
When Will the PS5 Slim Release?
Assuming Sony does eventually decide to release a PS5 Slim, we wouldn't expect it to arrive until at least two to three years after the initial launch period. The console will most likely sport a slimmer and sleeker look, but the internal components will remain largely the same.
How Much Will PS5 Slim Cost?
We now know that PS5 will cost $399.99/$499.99 at launch in the United States, but that doesn't mean a PS5 Slim would necessarily be priced the same. If we take history into account, we can probably assume that the PS5 Slim will cost less than the standard PS5 does at its 2020 launch, but it'll all depend on what Sony expects the hardware to offer and how it will be positioned in the marketplace.

I'll definitely hold out for a slim version, unless guerilla really is working on a new socom. Then all bets are off and I'll purchase that game and console same day! Assuming they aren't sold out of course!
Let's not get ahead of ourselves now...
