@KALofKRYPTON I think WB should stick with Cavill. He was pretty decent as Supes. Problem is where do they go from here? The shared universe didn't really panned out that well for them but at the same time it would be weird for them cast him again if they decide to reboot the character. Hopefully, the next one they do isn't as dark tone wise.
Also, I thought The Irishman was a pretty good movie. De Niro was great in it but I loved Pesci's and Pacino's performances especially. They probably should've used a body double for young Frank Sheeran, though cause even with the de-aging thing his movements still looked a bit stiff.
@WanderingBullet I agree. I like Cavill. It's a shame his Superman wasn't really given a chance to just be Superman.
I think if WB wanted to, they could quite easily get a separate Superman film done again with him. Exec's only think about the bottom line though - and I fully expect them to continue letting JJ fail upwards and take over the DC films.
I'll get to The Irishman - may have to give it a couple of sittings though.

@LN78 That's probably a good shout. My interest in Bond as a movie character is waning though. I've been reading the Fleming books and find them far more engaging than any of the films have really managed.

They really should aim at someone 25 - 30 if they're planning on getting several films out of them. Craig is a rather craggy looking bloke anyway so his ageing is slightly less noticeable - but certainly by Spectre, he looks like a melting Riddler (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Riddlers).

Has anyone seen Boogie Nights? I just started watching it the other night and was thinking of getting the soundtrack. Is it all disco, soul and funk?

@Arugula@jacobia Saw The Perfection last night. Wow, what a bonkers movie! I'm glad I went into it not knowing anything, I even stopped the preview that comes up in Netflix.
Any you guys seen Wounds, also on Netflix? Not seen it yet but it got a good review and was described as a Lovecraftian body horror spine-tingler, which immediately had my interest!
Life is more fun when you help people succeed, instead of wishing them to fail.
Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak and remove all doubt.
I watched You Were Never Really Here on Netflix and to be honest, with Joaquin Phoenix it was a perfect companion piece to that film. Kind of a hitman film but focusing on the man rather than the hit and the ptsd from his life. Beautifully shot, devastating acting. Very well made film.
Now I may be an idiot, but there's one thing I am not sir, and that sir, is an idiot
@RogerRoger It is all rather samey, but in a rather good way. I think they could do well with a change of format somehow. The lack of gadget reliance really helped sell Craig's Bond - if they could carry that on and perhaps - as has been discussed - do a period 50s/60s run as close to the style of the books, change the set up completely and run with some female agents not-named Bond - I don't know.
Given the way the trailer is cut though (and I'm not sure if this is actually already been confirmed), I'm sure now that Lashana Lynch is 007.

@RogerRoger I saw the trailer the other day. It looks quite good actually. Hopefully it is, cause I only enjoyed Casino Royale among all the Daniel Craig Bond movies.
@KALofKRYPTON I always thought the gadgets were one of the reasons why the Bonds movies were so cool even though they can be quite silly at times. Craig's version of 007 is more badass compared to previous Bonds, though.
Oh god! I think Star Wars just officially confirmed some leaks from months ago with their latest TV spot.
!WARNING! SPOILERS FOR THE RISE OF SKYWALKER BELOW In the newest TV spot they focus on a dagger that is covered with sith writing. This is apparently linked to Rey's parentage. A while ago there was spoiler talk that the dagger was like a sith holocron that is meant to reveal that Rey is in fact Palpatine's granddaughter ๐๐, thus explaining her power with the force. This was thought to be an abandoned plot thread as is didn't test well and had perhaps been dealt with by reshoots. Perhaps not. There's talk now that near the end of the film Rey uses parts from Leia's lightsaber (left in from another plot thread that was cut showing scenes of Luke training Leia before he went in to exile) and Luke's/Anakin's lightsaber to build her own with a 'gold' crystal.
So yeah. This film is very likely going to be the laziest of JJ's work - which is saying something!
