While You Wait for Kingdom Hearts 4, Play the Entire Saga with New Collection on PS5

I’m really confused by the Kingdom Hearts game numbering. Didn’t the PS2 have Kingdom Hearts 2? Why is there now only 2.5 and 2.8? And wasn’t there one with some mathematics in the title, like 365/7 to the power of 5, or something like that?

If it is released physically i'll get it

The artwork is legit really good and I think it looks a lot better then the grid style they did when it was released on Steam last year.

@GravyThief It's confusing as all hell lmao, but 1.5 and 2.5 are essentially HD re-releases of 1 and 2 that were originally on the PS2 but with extra content.

2.8 is essentially a standalone short game that served as a prologue for 3.

365/7 was another game that released on DS.

The numbering system is so whatever lol.

What makes it better than playing the PS4 versions on PS5? Just Faster load times?

I have most of this except 2.8, which always costs way too much stand alone, and the 3 dlc. I played 1 & 2 back in the day, someday I may play, and watch, the rest.

4 being announced for Switch 2 does probably mean it will release before PS6 launches at least.

@danzoEX That and probably a sharper resolution. I still remember being happy that I didn't have to play through chain of Memories 6 times for the platinum with the PS4 version unlike the PS3 original.

I don't see upgrade option for people who own "All In One Package" or all games on PS4.

It's a PS5 native port? There will be any enhancements?

@Deadlyblack thanks, that’s helpful. The 1.5/2.5 actually makes some sense (I think). But I’d love to know how they came up with 2.8. Maybe they started at 2.7, but managed to squeeze in some extra features so got it to 2.8 🤣

I won't be rebuying them but if they're available as an upgrade for a small fee i'd consider it.

I did buy all these on ps4 but have been focussing on getting through the Final Fantasy series and haven’t had a chance to get to any of these. If they’re noticeably improved over the ps4 versions I’d probably pick this collection up and play it on ps5 instead.

@GravyThief It is a really thought out naming scheme, relating to each game in the collection, to explain the numbers. For KH2.8 Final Chapter: the main game in 2.8 is Dream Drop Distance from the 3DS (hence the 3D name) which is KH 2.6 because it follows the 2.5 Remix, then the KH3 prologue has the "Birth by Sleep" name so it is 0.2 (because BBS is 0.1), and the KHX cutscenes included are 0 because no Sora. So 2.6+0.2+0= 2.8

@Fizza Yeah, I saw some other people point out the weird parts of the art, so if it's ai generated it's a shame cause Nomura is a great artist, why ai generate replicate his art.

The physical has a disc, but will require a download because Square Enix is too lazy to put it on two discs. Still, never played KH. Maybe it's time.

@Deadlyblack The Japanese box art looks like the image above. What likely happened was the Japanese box art had the characters and backgrounds shifted around and AI was used to fill in the gaps. Not sure whose brilliant idea that was, but they should be fired for it. The original artwork was fine.

This series takes itself way too seriously for having Donald Duck and Goofy as main characters. And I hate when the only structure in a game or movie is "let's visit all the fan favourite spots".
That's all I have to know about KH.

But couldnt give us a final fantasy X upgrade too ps5 with boosters.
