Sorry guys, real life and all that! Caught the race though, and boy what fun it was! If only the directors would have cut to the real action on track occasionally, it would have been much better....

Practice has been interesting, Ferrari looked like the team to beat with Leclerc and Hamilton trading places in P1 and P2 but the others seem to have found something and Kimi continues to look fast. Qualifying should be fascinating. (And more important than the race 90% of the time at this track)

I think said yesterday that the last time a driver overtook for the lead on track at Monaco was in the 80s. It’s often a procession.

Next session is the only reason to watch at Monaco I'd agree. The race is not a race at all. I wish they did just timed laps for Monaco - like the timed stages you get on the tour de France. It would be far more exciting and make the race day relevant again.

I've only checked the results of the Practice sessions, Ferrari certainly seem to be primed to finally get a good result this season.
As you both mention I'm more excited for qualifying than the 'race' tomorrow. I'll have it on of course but I probably have on the side whilst gaming or something.
I wonder what odds the bookies will give for an actual overtake on track.

@Titntin I agree. It’s the reason I e watched P1-P3 as qualifying is all important.

Max for Pole and the win? George struggling again? Ferrari not actually fastest? Something’s gotta give

That was fun. I wonder why Lando pitted on his final attempt? His sector times seemed good. The McLarens dropped off overall in Q3.
Red Bull's found some good performance but well driven Kimi.

Well no one could deny Antonelli is the real deal!
Great quali 👍

I was hoping one of the Ferrari’s was on the front row. What are the odds Verstappen leads into turn one?

Am I right in thinking Kimi’s lap was no purple sectors but just fast overall? I was watching it an thought he was out of it. Very surprised but might have missed something.

With the huge difference in how some of the starts have gone for some teams/drivers there could still be some excitement going to the first corner (and possible incidents). The Ferraris still might get something from this race.

@Titntin I agree about Antonelli. What I don’t understand is why Russell has comparatively fallen off a cliff. The comparison they did betweeen George & Kimis laps was fascinating, George tentatively turning in and having to readjust, Kimi confident on the turn in points and acceleration out. George just doesn’t look comfortable or confident in the car right now.

It's Parade Day. Is anyone watching this one live? I'm watching at the moment and curious how the start/first few laps go. Depending how it goes I'll probably put my PS5 on but leave it going on my laptop to the side.

EDIT: The Grid Walk has become pointless at Monaco. It's just ridiculous the amount of people they let on the grid, especially when a lot of them don't actually give a F about F1.

@themightyant Antonellis performances are like a slap in the face for George's ego. I suspect that this slap to the ego is robbing George of the confidence he needs.
Race about to start, enjoy the afternoon gents!

My God! Crofty really is oblivious at times. The most dramatic thing since the start of the race happens and he's waffling about other things. Norris going through some terrible luck at the moment.

Bonkers race. Still a twist in the tale? Someone else with cold tires having an issue. Standing start and Hamilton win?

Either way looking bad for Russell

Now Hamilton being investigated for a safety car infringement.

@themightyant Not an exciting race but most definitely an eventful one. Interesting that both the drivers that went into wall didn't think the surface caused it.

@BearsEatBeets yes definitely trust their judgement.

It’s been bizarre but one of the best Monaco GPs. Thrilling due to odd circumstances.

Imagine a standing start, Hamilton wins by then given a penalty…. would fit with the day.

Would have put good money on Lewis beating Kimi to corner one considering how they’ve started this season, but Kimi deserves that win. Lewis will still be #2 in championship!

Will have to see what penalties are served. But huge for the racing bulls in 5th and 6th.

Edit: and Cadillac with a point…. (Maybe) or Alonso.
