@Th3solution my gripe is never a message or anything like that, it is just in terms of its quality. Hence the houmous anecdote. It's just unrealistic, modern hipster-centric and blegh.
I've got a feeling it was Robbie Robertson, too...
Robbie Robertson was one of the first black characters in comics to play a serious supporting role, rather than act as comic relief.
And now... houmous anecdotes... bravo writing team. Bravo. (Dipsh**s act like they are progressive and yet prove the opposite by reducing an important character to some really awful comic relief, that isn't even funny, for god knows what added value they saw in doing that 🫡)
But yeah, i'm projecting far too grumpy, lately 😁 It's still a fun enough game. There is just a trend in modern writing though about appearing cool and appearing progressive, rather than just being cool or being progressive, and it is driven by stupid hipsters 😁
@JohnnyShoulder It did? I played through Alan Wake 2 and its DLCs last year but they were separate stories. How were you able to play them in the game?
@Thrillho Based on those examples, it sounds to me that you tend to not play the DLCs right after the base game. Or maybe you play through the base games when they come out, which is why you aren't able to play through the DLCs right after as they hadn't come out yet. Either way, it's most certainly tough to play through a DLC long after you've finished the base game. I rarely do that as I don't play many games right when they come out. The only recent example where I've done that is with FF16, but because its combat is fairly straightforward, I didn't have many issues getting back into the swing of things.
@Ravix Yes, I think that’s a fair assessment. Well, other than the anecdotes about delicious chickpea based dips often enjoyed with pita bread— I think we need more of those in games, personally. 😜😂
As someone who has made plenty of typos and been burned by autocorrect many times, just kidding with you of course.
“We cannot solve our problems with the same thinking we used when we created them.”
@Th3solution apologies, now i'm missing the joke. But you can spell houmous in near countless ways, so do not fear (if it is that) although it still makes the in-game anecdotes about Robbie Robertson's hipster food preferences absolutely mind-numbing no matter how it is... spelt (😅) see, even my recollection of his boring story has more about it, despite also being mind-numbing itself 😁
@Ravix Ah, jokes on me. I usually see it as hummus, but houmous is out there too I now realize. Might be an American-British thing. You all have a tendency to use “ou” when we use just “o” or “u”. Like color, flavor, labor…

@JohnnyShoulder The Cyberpunk DLC is great with choices in some of the side missions offering really morally grey outcomes. The main story is really good with some really varying branches as well which I saw all of and am still not sure which is the best outcome. It also opens up a new ending in the main game which is another bittersweet one.
@LtSarge I guess ultimately when it comes to DLC it has to be something very good to entice me back for the sort of reasons I gave before. I very rarely buy games at release or probably even within 12 months of release now which is normally a good window for DLC to have dropped. It's then weighing up whether the extra time commitment is something I want, whether it incorporates into the main game and/or adds to the base experience, and whether I think it's worth the money.
They've dropped a couple of interesting DLC packs for Two Point Museum (a rare pre-order for me) but the price they're at makes it a no-go for me and I'm also not sure I'd replay the game for them, or that there's any point just tacking it on to what I've already done.
Steady progress in KCD2 for me though. I finally got through the wedding which was fun but had a heart-sink moment when the game kept repeatedly crashing on me upon completing that section, no matter what dialogue choices I made. Luckily reloading a save only a little bit earlier on let me carry on otherwise that would have been game over.
The section after that is rather different though! The section in the castle to save Hans was interesting having the time pressure to get through but I made it through in the end. It was just highly frustrating trying to figure out the geography of the castle to get anywhere, especially in the dark without my torch. I had to whack the brightness up in-game to figure out where the hell I was going!
@Thrillho I'm the same way, especially when considering that there are so many games to play and when I'm done with a game, I just want to move on to the next one. But if the DLC is for a game that I enjoyed, then I will most likely check it out.
@JohnnyShoulder Ah I completely missed that. I just remembered that I bought the DLC after I had finished the base game, so that could also explain why I didn't notice anything, lol. But that's cool that you could do that! I really enjoyed the Night Springs stories as they let you go all out with the weapons.
Having finished Resident Evil Village around a week ago now, I think it’s about time I get stuck back into Ghost of Yōtei until I get around to picking up Resident Evil Requiem.

Miles Morales is done and dusted to one hundred percent. Eight hours in total, bite-sized compared to the first game. Spiderman 2 might be next. I'm away at the moment so I can't focus too much on anything too big or involved and everything I've read makes it sound rather chunky. I might fallback onto something smaller and accessible/relatable like Rimworld, Cartel Tycoon or some form of business simulator. Nothing too involved. Then see about something bigger next week.
I altered the affinity on my Nagakiba +24 (in Elden Ring) from Keen to Blood, today, so now I have a Blood Nagakiba +24. I also upgraded my Revered Spirit Ash Blessing from 7 to 8, making my Mimic Tear (already +10 from the base game) ,even tankier. Now all that remains is to tackle the Mandatory Story Bosses in order, upgrading my Shadow Realm Blessing to 12 along the way to the final boss.

Just finished Hospital in Little Nightmares II. While controls sometimes got in the way, especially keeping lights on mannequins it was definetely a memorable level and set-pieces were fun. I especially liked the last chase scene.
@Scottyy Do you know much about a character called Carnage? I'm after getting a 880 page omnibus about them. It has all of these and will take a while to get through:
Probably about 6 or 7 hours into Hellpoint now and although I was enjoying it well enough during my first session, the more I play, the more I think it’s a bit of a hidden gem. Apart from the combat itself, which is pretty basic as far as souls-likes go (though not bad)… it’s surprisingly deep in terms of the various systems (nerfs, buffs etc.) and the exploration is really good.
I’ve now taken on the third boss I’ve found and actually struggled tbh… think I probably took around 5 goes, which this early into a souls-like surprises me. It was a two-boss boss though if you get me (two boss enemies at once), which always tend to give me some issues if I’m honest. Haven’t found the next boss though and have been exploring for a fair few hours. It’s very labyrinthine, which I appreciate but it does seem particularly easy to get lost 😅.
Playing Spider-Man 2, Neva which I’m not really feeling despite enjoying Gris but I will persevere. Also playing Toy trains in VR which is delightful. Trying to get my VR backlog down having recently finished Hellsweeper (left one trophy locked as I fancy this game as my next milestone), that game was great.
Sony sent me an email detailing my monthly VR stats as they usually do and i played VR for 40 hours last month.
@graymamba
When you wrote about it the other day I watched a video and remember seeing this game a few months ago, it looks alright although I didn’t think much of the environments as they all looked a bit drab and bleak.
And from what I saw it did seem easy to lost but it was a brief video.
