Baldur's Gate 3, of course. Oooooof! FF16 is on the back-burner for now, just while I learn how BG3 works. And I can pick FF back up any time for a quick session.
Don't need to tell anyone who is enjoying it just how good it is. I've only just done the intro battle (took my time, looking at all the actions and bonus actions for the party, just to get my head around it) and it's already been bats*** crazy, which I do like in a game š
Me, the Gith, Shadowheart and an over friendly brain-doggy put the first bosses to the sword (and looted them) with 9 moves to spare out of 15, I then took control of the ship when I could have maybe stayed back and fought the bonus bosses that pop up, but oh well. Missed opportunity for XP and loot, I guess. After landing I switched it off so I can process and absorb what I've just done, as there is quite a lot of systems at play, and way more actions than I expected each character to have from the start.
Much fun. Hopefully I can speed up the battles as I get used to it š

@Kidfried Iām quite far into HFW and have mixed feelings about it. Thereās a lot I like but it just feels like Iāve been doing lots of busy work for the sake of it.
Some of the side missions have been quite interesting but there feels like thereās been loads of filler. The main story has been interesting but I canāt really say that itās been 60hrs worth of content to match my play time.
I also dropped the difficulty down to story when farming for some parts and havenāt changed it back as I find most battles a bit dull to be honest. The new shredder weapon is pretty neat though.
@Kidfried ārobo chessā is a weird one; I managed to beat the first two players, more by luck than judgement, to get the trophy and havenāt bothered since.
One of the weirdest things for me is having melee pits to teach you these cool fighting techniques that you can use against other humans but then have so few of those fights (thankfully) that I have completely forgotten about the combos they taught me.
Itās funny though because reading the comments on the main site for the special edition of the game being rumoured and people are saying the main story was weak but thatās been the best bit for me š¤·š»āāļø

I didnt do many of the side missions only a few that sounded fairly short, TBH i would have enjoyed the game if it was just the story alone and it still took me many hours to complet, my first PS5 game on my new system at 1440p i will definitly play the next i think itll be a while before i see anything that looks and plays as well as HFW.
@woollypump Yeah, the chapter 4 boss is great!
I never did try any PvP out, so I definitely think I should do that at some point! Maybe Iāll even replay some missions and boss fights again!
I finally beat the chapter 4 boss last night. It didnāt feel significantly easier after the update, but I guess that made the differenceā¦.still took quite a few attempts over an hour or so. I enjoyed pretty much every attempt though
@woollypump It's a proper good boss fight that one. I struggled with it in the beginning but once you get a grasp of its attacks then it's not so bad. I did have to change my loadout a few times as I kept running out of ammo. š
Once you finish your first playthrough, be sure to play through the game two more times if you want to experience everything!

I clown on the PS4 ports to PS5 quite a bit but man, Uncharted 4 is absolutely glorious. Especially with VRR, itās kinda hard to choose between a slightly less smooth true 4K vs 1440p in what my TV reads as roughly 100 FPS. Both look brilliant although I personally canāt see much of a difference with the 120Hz mode, itās just as smooth as the normal performance mode to me but the 1080p is definitely noticeable. The 3D audio is real cool too. Uncharted 4 is probably my favourite of the series so itās been great playing it again especially with how rock solid the PS5 version is.
@nessisonett That is good to know, as I've still not played Uncharted 4 or Lost Legacy. I've got a bit of mixed history with the series though, and preferred the recent Tomb Raider games. Not sure if it has anything to do with being more familiar with the Tomb Raider series, or something else.

Was going through some of the games recently added to PS Plus and thought I'd give "Dysmantle" a go... I'm at 45 hours so far, wasn't expecting it to be as good as it is. Early game is a bit tough while you level up and improve your gear, but for me it's got the right mix of exploration and crafting without being overly complicated.
@nessisonett Youāre motivating me to get back to my Uncharted series replay. I hardly ever go back and relay games except when thereās been a remaster or remake and itās been long enough to make it feel fresh. I played Drakeās Fortune and then somehow never kept going with the Nathan Drake Collection. After reading your post, getting to the Legacy of Thieves Collection is proper motivation.
@JohnnyShoulder By my memory, the gameplay does evolve as the series progresses, although it never quite gets to the level of the Tomb Raider reboots. It has the Naughty Dog polish and panache which the TR games lack, but the combat, stealth, exploration, and puzzles arenāt quite as elaborate. UC4 and LL are the closest to TR though.

Played the Ghostrunner 2 demo and it was very fun (unsurprisingly).
It also reminded me that I didn't play the DLC for the 1st one so I'll be doing that, while also trying to beat Chicory before it's taken off PS+ next week
@Th3solution I did find parts of the Uncharted games a bit of a slog at times. The section on the train with a helicopter after you which seemed to go on for ever, I seem to remember a particular bugbear of mine.

@JohnnyShoulder Some of the cinematic styled action set pieces do go a little overboard, and the cover shooting is a bit bland in some sections, depending on your preference. But UC4 adds some grapple mechanics and some stealth mechanics, amongst other things, which freshen it up. But yeah, thereās still a goodly amount of bombastic Hollywood style sequences which may or may not click for you. Lost Legacy is likely to be up your alley though because of its more focused approach, in the sense that itās not very long anyways and the gameplay experiments with some light open-worldness that makes it feel a little more updated and different from the first four. Playing as a different protagonist also is welcome, as much as I really like Nate. As amusing and lovable as he is, his character depth isnāt exactly cavernous. š

Tried out The Crew Motorfest and Star Ocean: The Second Story R. The Crew doesn't feel good to play at all compared to Forza Horizon. It's too arcade-y, while Horizon has the perfect blend of realistic and arcade controls. It feels more like Need for Speed than Horizon, especially when considering that there are drift and nitro buttons in this game. I was planning on buying it on day one, but I'm glad that I didn't. I'd rather wait for Forza Motorsport next month for my racing fix (besides Onrush that I'm playing now that is).
Star Ocean looks incredible! Pixelated characters with detailed environments is such a unique look! I probably won't get this game at launch but I'm definitely buying it eventually.
@Bentleyma I don't think HD-2D would fit Star Ocean 2 considering it was originally a PS1 game. HD-2D games are more based on 8-bit/16-bit titles.
Looking at old PS1 footage, the characters were pixelated while the backgrounds looked pre-rendered. So I think the way they did this remake makes sense in all honesty.
Lies of p. Its a superb game but does have a couple of niggles but overall its an outstanding first effort and i'm eager to see what they can come up with either dlc or a follow up game. FromSoftware should use their game engine to run their games in the future as its very obvious its much better.
Replaying FF 7 Remake and doing the DLC after which I haven't got round to until now.
I do hope that they stick to this model for Rebirth in terms of combat I prefer it to 16 which I enjoyed and was flashy but this one just feels better.
In my usual pivot after completing a game, Iāve gone from HFW to Inscryption which is a somewhat baffling game but one Iām slowly growing to like.
I know a few on here have played it and Iām intrigued to see where this is going to go as I recently got the roll of film and just need to beat the boss now.
