Okay, I've harped on about Armored Core VI enough but I've just wrapped up the true ending and I must say, that final boss fight was fantastic! It was challenging and it took some persevering but it really was a really epic final boss for the game. In fact, the entirety of the final chapter had me wondering excitedly where the hell it was going story-wise. FromSoftware has hit it out of the park once again.

My first experience with the Armored Core series is one I won't be forgetting anytime soon. 9/10.

@Bentleyma I'm sure you can fit another game in there somewhere!

@Bentleyma How is Dead Island 2? I played the first one back when it released and found it a decent enough game. Curious to know how the sequel compares. Is it more of the same or are there any big improvements?

I couldn't get into it. I was bored to tears. The lack of Gyro aiming and clunky dated XBOX360 styled controls and game play make it feel generations behind something like Resident Evil 4 remake. Something about those samey dark corridors didn't grab me either. However, if they plunked Dead Space on PSVR2, I'd absolutely be all in!

@Bentleyma I'm glad to hear. The slaughtering of zombies does appeal to me, so I may keep an eye if it goes on sale!

Made a start on Days Gone, technically a PS4 game but I read it performs better on PS5 and that's the machine I have it installed on so I'm posting it on here.

Well it's pretty darn good isn't it!?

It's all sneaky, sneaky stealth death machine... Crunch - oh no they heard me and now there's like a hundred zombies running at me with my limited stamina to run away, spikey baseball bat quickly degrading and too panic/not enough ammo to perform head shots with my crappy pistol. Yup I'm dead - better rethink my approach to that encounter.

Yeah think I'm gonna enjoy this.

Still farming in DeS on PS5. Got my eye on completing the game with an op build. Got stats such as Vitality and Magic to about 50 and 30, trying to get Magic up to 50 as well as Strength and Endurance up to 34 and 25 before tackling the next area. Got my eye on a certain weapon that requires specific achievements to be met in order for it to be obtained.

@sorteddan fantastic game, I enjoyed this way more than I ever thought I would, I played it as part of the ps plus games you got for "free" on the ps5 and it's was brill.

I didn't really like Deacon the main character, I felt he was a bit bland but over all I enjoyed the story and the game.

Not a bad plat either, I know how you like your plats 😁

@Jimmer-jammer Yeah, it's really bloody good, isn't it?! It just gets better as well, believe me. Some of the bosses are fantastic. I won't spoil what I used as you'll probably not have them available yet. There's a melee weapon that I'm using that absolutely chunks when you land a hit with it.

Changing parts and weapons is so easy too, so don't be afraid to switch up your playstyle and gear if a boss or mission is proving a bit too difficult! Really glad you're enjoy it! Keep me posted on your progress!

@KAIRU I had a few shots at the Chapter 4 boss last night and then tried out some PVP (3 vs 3 team) which was loads of fun.

I'm finding that I've been essentially tweaking the same build rather than switching it up massively. I got through all Arena battles up to S-rank with the same approach, focused on achieving stagger and increased direct hit damage, but upgrading certains stats as I got OST chips.

It was hard work not impulse buying Baldurs Gate 3 last night.

@woollypump Yeah, the chapter 4 boss is great!

I never did try any PvP out, so I definitely think I should do that at some point! Maybe I’ll even replay some missions and boss fights again!

@KAIRU the scale of the world seems a bit mad at points, particularly in chapter 4 in the rail tunnels- it feels as though you are approximately human sized and then you notice a TINY DOOR or a LITTLE HOUSE.

woollypump

@Jimmer-jammer as much as I'm enjoying AC6 I wouldn't say the TINY DOORS impressed with a sense of scale - it more made me think of those little fairy doors that people put at the base of trees on forest walks for kids

@Jimmer-jammer The mission variety really does a fantastic job at keeping things fresh, that’s for sure! It was certainly a really nice change of pace for me and I think FromSoftware really hit the sweet spot for me.

I hope you enjoy Chapter 3. The final boss fight of that particular chapter is awesome! In fact, I’d probably say each boss fight gets better and better as the game progresses.

@Jimmer-jammer I’m sure you’ll enjoy it, mate. I’ve been playing Baldur’s Gate 3 almost religiously the last few days but I’m very tempted to get back to piloting my mech once more.

@Jimmer-jammer Agreed. I mentioned in a previous post somewhere that I genuinely believe FromSoftware’s formula just appeals to me. It seems like everything they’ve released since Dark Souls III in 2016 just keeps getting better and better (nothing’s topping Bloodborne). I really love the ‘all action, all the time’ feel that you get when playing Armored Core 6, but I’m also having a splendid time with the slower pacing within Baldur’s Gate 3.

Both very good games in their own right and I’ve been enjoying both immensely.

Will be adding Lies of P to the rotation within the next fortnight too!

@Jimmer-jammer Truthfully, the Lies of P demo was a little bit stiff and clunky. Weirdly, however, I actually didn’t mind that. I know some people hate it but I guess I could look past it.

I’ve seen it get a lot of comparisons to Bloodborne but those who do compare the two are going to be bitterly disappointed, simply because Bloodborne is so much better. I’d probably recommend trying to avoid doing that too.
