Immortals seemed to do relatively ok, as it seemed to get plenty of praise from players after it came out. Seemed like one of those games that might not have sold that great at first, but word of mouth might have helped it succeed. I could be wrong, but that's the impression I got, so I think it is possible they will release a sequel sometime after the next Assassin's Creed game. They have multiple studios as well, so it's not like they would have too many games in development.

i know rumors are not accurate indicators anymore in this industry, but when it comes to ubisoft they usually are.

Tetris Effect is one of the best games I’ve ever played. I’ve never even really been massively into Tetris but that game is a revolution. Between the soundtrack, graphics and the controller vibrations, it totally gets you into a zen like state. Wish I still had my PSVR hooked up so I could try it.

Plumbing’s just Lego innit. Water Lego.

@nessisonett I need to get back into Tetris Effect. I have left it loaded on both my consoles, but haven’t played it since launch. It is really good. The visuals coupled with the music and simple yet challenging gameplay is quite the perfect recipe. I just suck at the game and ran into an insurmountable roadblock on the latter stages so I quit before completing the entire basic mode. Those blasted tetrominos start dropping so fast in the end stages! My brain doesn’t work that quickly!

Playing Guardians of the Galaxy and Crash 4 currently.

I've finally started playing Ghost Of Tsushima and I can see why it got so much praise. It oozes style and makes you feel like a boss when you take out an entire village full of Mongols/bandits as Jin (Honourably of course). Very serene to play at times, too. Loving it.

After finishing Resi 8 I decided to take the plunge and downloaded Returnal from Plus Extra. I was a few hours in, enjoying it even though I don't think I was making any actual progress lol, but with having a few days off I needed another game as well.

Went for a real change of pace from what I have played in previous month's and downloaded Judgement. I'm getting really into it, it's a good chillout game and playing with Japanese vocal track and English subtitles, does help with the Immersion. It's a pretty cool game and both this and Returnal should see me safely through the next couple of months.

Will be focusing on Stray though when comes out in a couple of weeks.

@ApostateMage GoT is in my top 3 Sony exclusives of the PS4 era. I'm glad that I only played it last year after the PS5 version came out.

@Col_McCafferty That’s quite a combo of games there!

I’m also guessing you haven’t played the Yakuza games then? Judgment is a great place to try out the series but is unique enough to stand out by itself. I still have the sequel to play at some point which is supposed to be even better.

Col_McCafferty

@Thrillho Yeah, no Yakuza games for me.

Not sure why, but the defective angle appeals to me more hence why I thought I'd give Judgement a try. Bought it a few months back, cost me under £30 physical so not that expensive a gamble. Fortunately it's pretty good and unlike Returnal, I at least know what I'm doing.

@Col_McCafferty Was there a physical PS5 version or are you just playing PS4? There is an upgrade option for a tenner I think (which also gives you a load of items that make combat silly easy).

There’s no crossover with the Yakuza games at all and I think the fresh start and new mechanics actually make it better than that series to be honest.

Uncharted 4

I was somewhat disappointed with Uncharted 4 the first time I played it 6 years ago. Now via the PS5 version I started yesterday, I'm loving it. It's been a real pleasure jumping back into a game with the characters again, and obviously it looks and plays great at 60 FPS. It's games/series like this that remind me of why I'm a big PlayStation fan.

I think the reasons it was a bit of a disappointment with me 6 years ago was obviously high expectations since Uncharted is a beloved series for me. It probably had a bit of added pressure coming off of Uncharted 3 since that was a disappointment for me as well after Uncharted 1 and 2 floored me. Also, it didn't help that they got rid of the director/writer of the series (Amy Hennig), so I was skeptical of things from the start and probably wondered "what if" for what the story would have originally been.

Now that I'm far removed from all that, despite still not being a Neil Druckmann fan, it's been a total different experience so far. I hope the magic doesn't wear off (I'm on Chapter 9 right now).

render

@KilloWertz I hadn't had a playstation since PS2 when I got the PS4 UC4 bundle. I played a little bit of UC4 and then realised that I probably should start at the beginning so grabbed the Nathan Drake Collection and binged that, followed by going back to UC4.

I enjoyed the entire game and it just played and looked so much better than 1-3, plus I was quite captivated by the story which I felt was the best of the lot. They may not be games that I'd want to go back and play too often but I enjoyed revisiting UC4 and LL remasters just to remember how good a well crafted ND game can be.

I know that's not the same for everyone though with some people tiring of the combat or feeling the story isn't as good as previous entries but hopefully you'll come out the otherwise with more positives than negatives.

KilloWertz

@render The PS3 was quite a generation to skip, but I can't say anything since I bought the Xbox 360 first and didn't get a PS3 until well into the generation. Obviously that changed things significantly as I completely flipped after that and have always been PlayStation first since.

It is definitely by far the best looking game in the series. Not surprising since it's the first one made for the PS4, and I've always felt the Nathan Drake Collection "remasters" were mediocre. That doesn't change the quality of the actual games though, but anyways, being so many years removed from my initial issues with Uncharted 4 seems to have helped quite a bit so far.

As long as my enjoyment holds up, I should come out of it with far more positives than negatives this time around. I'm one that will never tire of the combat, as it felt really nice to be back playing an Uncharted game again.

Th3solution

@KilloWertz From your post on UC4, I gather that your current appreciation is more due to a different set of expectations going in, or do you think the PS5 upgrades really make that much of a difference? I’m curious because I have plans to replay the whole series (UC2 is next) via the remasters and I’m wondering how big the jump is to the Legacy of Thieves collection. For only a $10 upgrade fee for both games, I’m not hesitant to go for the updated version, but I’m wondering if it really makes that big of a difference in the experience.

Anti-Matter

I wish I can play my PS5 games since I have purchased the games on 3 July 2022 but I don't have PS5 machine yet. 😟

No good deed
Will I do
AGAIN...!!!

graymamba

@KilloWertz expectations going in to a game is a massive thing for me. I’ve lost count of the games that I tried when expecting a lot and subsequently being disappointed… and then when I’ve returned expecting a boring grind and being more than pleasantly surprised.
