@Bentleyma ah, you got it all set up. Nice. Oh, that RGB stand just makes me wish they'd add actual RGB lighting to the PS5's too, instead of the harsh white light we get when it's on πͺπͺ looks so much better with a flash of actual colour

@Ravix Thanks a ton. I didn't know that CD Keys had PS Credit for Germany but yeah found it with around 15% discount. Now I'm more convinced to convert to all Digital. And yeah I heard about this Turkey thing but never wanted to do it.
I was unsure about it since it was announced. I pre-ordered it, then cancelled it and have now pre-ordered it again. I usually always play in performance mode. So will be good to get the graphical boost. I'm hoping that the differences will be more noticeable when actually playing the games. Than looking at YouTube videos. Main reason I'm getting it is for Ghost of Yotei. I love Ghost of Tsushima and I want to experience the new one the best way possible.
@Nexozi Glad to see someone else as indecisive as me. I've also pre-ordered and cancelled the PS5 Pro multiple times. As someone that spends a huge chunk of their free time gaming, I think that I'll benefit from owning one.
@Bentleyma There are probably a few like us. π Def wasn't sure about it when first announced. I'm the same, so will def get good use out of it. Only thing that will take time away from the PS5 is that I'm switching to the series X for COD on GPU. So saving some money going forward on it.
I want performance modes to be even smoother and look prettier. Not only that, but I can afford it. Furthermore, I don't play in quality mode, ever. I simply cannot tolerate or adjust to 30 fps these days. Interestingly, the older I get, the less tolerant of it I have become.
So it was a simple decision for me. Pre-ordered it via PS Direct.
Some details on Dragon Age: The Veilguard PS5 Pro support:
We are excited to see how Dragon Age: The Veilguard will lean into the power that PS5 Pro unlocks for players. Whether you love deep progression, strategic combat, or diving into the lore of Dragon Age, you will immediately notice the improved experience with PS5 Pro. The gameβs Fidelity and Performance modes will both see improvements on the hardware, including improved resolution in 30FPS Fidelity and 60FPS Performance modes. Additionally, there will be various improved visual settings across 30FPS Fidelity and 60FPS Performance mode.
The team at BioWare is proud of how immersed players will be when they enter the beautiful world of Thedas, with upgraded image quality thanks to Sonyβs new AI-based upscaler, PSSR. Weβve enabled Raytraced Ambient Occlusion (RTAO) in the 60FPS Performance mode, which previously was only available on the base PlayStation 5 with 30FPS Fidelity mode.

Well, that's the PS5 Pro paid for! Decided to pay for it in advance so I don't keep changing my mind. I keep forgetting that I can sell my PS5 Slim to get some money back, so at least that'll save me some money. I'm going to save myself some time and just sell it to CEX. It'll be interesting to see how much the price of the Slim will go down when the Pro is released. I can get Β£299 in cash if I sell it now, but I'm going to wait until my Pro arrives before I sell it because I can't be doing without a PS5!
@Khwarezm89 no problem. That 15% ain't a bad discount at all, especially for games you want to get on release day!
In return, I ask only a small favour...
Let me know how Dragon Age The Veilguard is on PS5 Pro when you get it π the more I read, the more it seems that this will be the first game to really go for it on the new hardware. The game itself I am still unsure of, but the fact they are piling on the upgrades right away is really intriguing. And as I love fantasy as a genre, I am hoping it's a game I will maybe warm to at some point, as I did with Dragons Dogma 2, after being a little worried by the trailers I saw in the year before release, it ended up being a day one game for me π
They have said (realised you quoted some of this already, but more details have since come out): not only are they doing the 60fps Pro mode with some minor RT effects and PSSR boosting image quality to match PS5 quality, but they have also confirmed the 30fps mode will have boosted resolution and more visual goodies, which seems like a very good starting place for a third party release to include so many improved options
@Ravix Don't worry I'll talk a lot about the game once I get my hands on it but I'll post in this thread specifically how it looks and performs on the PS5 Pro
Cancelled my Pro pre-order... for now. I hate how indecisive I am about it. Apart of me wants it, but then I just think of all the games I could get with the money instead. I have a feeling that once I'm back at work the Saturday after it's release then I'll end up ordering it from Argos and using same day collection to grab it after work.
@Bentleyma maybe if you're still indecisive just leave it for a while and re-evaluate if you actually need it in a month or so, or around Christmas time. That Β£699 could be better used elsewhere if you're still happy with the slim ps5 and new monitor.
When it seems you're out of luck.

@Bentleyma I've warmed up to idea of it, but still think it is not for me. I've not come across any games that have suffered with any drastic performance issues that makes me want to spurge 700 quid on another console.
Plus I've not long ago bought new face plates for my ps5, and quite like the look of an all black console under my TV! π
Life is more fun when you help people succeed, instead of wishing them to fail.
Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak and remove all doubt.
@Bentleyma I know what you mean but to me it was easy decision to make tbh. But if there are other priorities you have then take your time to decide when should you get the PS5 pro.
I know what I'm like and I'm almost certain that when it's released I'll go out and grab one. I do like the idea of owning the best PlayStation I can own and money isn't the issue. Plus I can sell my PS5 for a tidy sum, so that makes the Β£700 pricetag more justifiable.
@Bentleyma That's how I thought about it. I pre-ordered it on PS Direct then I cancelled it and pre-ordered it through GameStop here in Germany as they've the Trade-In option so it made paying for the pro more justifiable.
Hello, everyone! Have you thought about switching to a PC? I mean, with such a price... isn't it more advantageous to build your own PC and enjoy unrestricted FPS?
@x-XMusashiX-x unrestricted frame rates at 700 pounds, is it? π I bet Minecraft would run like a dream.
And yes, I have thought about it, many times, but Β£3500+ for what I'd actually want out of the machine just to play a few badly optimised multiplatform games and have no access to my massive library of PS games seems a little silly, even for me π
I do want to do it at some point, but I know I'll still regret all the hassle, whilst also wondering where the value really is for me in starting to build a library from scratch on a system I'm not familiar with maybe only 3 or 4 new games a year I'd actually want
When it seems you're out of luck.
