Rockstar have always been pushing console hardware hard and their games cause people to upgrade to new console generations (I'm certain many PS4/XOne players will upgrade once it releases). If the GTA VI enhancements are substantial enough on the Pro Rockstar will essentially provide free marketing for Sony and I can even imagine a PS5 Pro + GTA VI bundle happening.
Sony will be releasing face plates for the Pro, so you can customize yours as you fit, mate
Have fun, fellas. Time to download all those PS5 Pro patches!
@Ravix@ro-kurorai Iβve heard that the Pro enhancement for Dragons Dogma 2 is surprisingly good, which is a CPU heavy game (as GTA VI will also be) so itβs a good sign.

Rockstar have always opted for 30 fps in their marquee open world titles as they push the CPU hard but I'll be happy if they offer locked 30 with better visuals on Pro. Let's keep our fingers crossed, though.
@x-XMusashiX-x In my case I'm actually working all day on my PC and I got a new on low mid-range few years ago for 900 Euros but I can see it's not holding up well compared to my PS5 and the upcoming PS5 Pro.
I tried to connect it to TV as a lot of people said yeah it's not an issue and you'll still have console like experience but still it's not as seamless as starting your console and launch the game. PC is a great platform but simply it's not for me and I'm fine with it.
So I decided to just focus on console and only one as I don't have a lot of time anymore to have all consoles in the world so PS5 was my favorite choice and PS5 Pro by end of this week since I'm trying to get the best out of the ecosystem I'm investing in.
The Last of Us Part 1, as it's what I'm currently playing anyway. Although the game looks great 'as is' and it runs smoothly in unlocked vrr framerate mode at 80fps (Naughty Dog are kings) but coming in to 'Bill's Town' (open area in daylight with lots of assets) I did start to notice more of the graphical stuff that I've been noticing this generation that makes good games look less good, so it will be a good point to start and see what improves. Also, the water was noticbly meh in the segment before, which stands out when the rest of the game looks good. So hopefully reflections improve.
FC25 intrigues me, as it is something I play anyway, albeit in clubs mode that isn't the most optimised and cared for mode. But I've not seen any mention of what the upgrade does yet. I'd like120fps as it's a sports game, but doubt they will bother for "balancing" reasons.
I'm excited to pick up Hogwarts again to see that improved RT. Might have to see whether the DLC that is planned is post game or mid game DLC to determine how much I play atm. Maybe I could finish my playthrough and start a new save ready for future DLC.
I'll install stuff like Baldur's Gate 3 that I pop back to every now and then, too. And Dragon's Dogma 2 to check up on Tim Roth π
And i'll probably buy Dragon Age fairly soon, maybe. Will I? Possibly.
@LN78 boo. Mine still hasn't shipped. I have a feeling i'll be the last one here to recieve it ππ
Also, as a general note, I saw an unboxing and it seems Sony no longer have the boxes with handles on and overall the packaging and console itself's materials just seem tackier than the launch model, which is slightly disappointing for a premium model release.
Pound shop plastic π hopefully they are better in person. But I think since the 'slim' release the materials have changed, tbh.
I wish Sony wasn't being so cheap with the disc drive and stand. I was thinking about it, but I want a premium product for such a premium price, not nickel and diming. I don't think it will send a good message to Sony for it to succeed either.
It is for me because I love PS Studios games, they are the reason why I have a PS and if there are studios that are going to make good use of this hardware they are the PS Studios, for me it has never been about looks or power but from now on the pro version of games are going to be the peak of those games, what developers will have in mind when making games and I want that, I want the full experience. I don't usually buy new gen consoles on their first year so technically the pro is going to last me at least 3 years. And lastly I love playing on my consoles so as far as there are PS consoles I will play on them.
So close yet so far. I think they have the consoles at delivery depots now, but they will probably only start delivering them tomorrow morning, so the same as anyone picking it up from a store π
When it seems you're out of luck.

So just finished resetting my Fat PS5 and packing it with cables, controller... etc and going in 2 hours to GameStop to trade it in for the Pro.
Can't wait to get my hands on it!
@Qu1n0n3z weird thing is, you can't physically play 2 consoles at the same time on the same tv screen. So we, who can choose to spend our money however we like, choose to use the better one. Funny that, innit?
With the good reviews coming in, I warming up to the idea of treating myself. Unfortunately the disc drive appears to now also be sold out in the U.S. (the article the other day implied we were immune to the shortages but I suppose not anymore). What I would really love is an option to buy the console and then then select a package with the disc drive instead of the DualSense. I guess I can flip the DualSense and recoup some money to pay for the drive but I hate the hassle to get all the pieces lined up. I wonder if they will release a bundle in the future with the disc drive instead. π Fat chance.
