Deadly Premonition 2 Ps4 PlayStation 4 1

Update (5th September 2019): We've received word from Rising Star Games co-founder Brjánn Sigurgeirsson about the possibility of Deadly Premonition 2 on PS4. He says the game is a "Switch exclusive at launch" and that the publisher is "not discussing other platforms at this stage". That sounds like a timed exclusive deal to us. We imagine the sequel - and presumably the original game too - will release on PS4 later down the line, but for now, they're only coming to Switch.

Original Story: Deadly Premonition, the-so-bad-it’s-good-but-really-it’s-still-rubbish cult hit from last generation, is getting a sequel – on the Nintendo Switch. The follow-up is being published by niche organisation Rising Star Games, which also handled the PlayStation 3 port of the original. Flamboyantly subtitled A Blessing in Disguise, the release is due out next year, and will plot the return of FBI agent Francis York Morgan and newcomer Aaliyah Davis.

There’s actually no word on whether this will make its way to Sony’s system just yet; common sense would suggest that it’ll be multiformat, but Nintendo has been busy resurrecting some of these fan favourites of late, and it may have some kind of exclusivity deal in place. We’ll contact the appropriate parties and see what more we can learn.

Of course, it wouldn’t be the first time PlayStation players have been made to wait for a Deadly Premonition game. The original launched as an Xbox 360 exclusive, and it took three years to be ported to the PS3 in Director’s Cut form. Speaking of which, the original game is also out now on the Switch, but again there’s no word on if it will make an appearance on the PS4. Well, not yet anyway.
