Not getting excited only been one good game in a decade, it probably be some crappy tie in with the film. Think it's time to take Sonic out behind the barn.

Either way, probably shouldn't say "Sonic Team" anymore, given, well, SEGA has some restructuring and Sonic Team as an entity doesn't seem to exist. They downsized a lot of their teams into more consolidated affairs.

When it comes to sonic games, "No further details" is a direct contradiction to "Good news everyone!". Maybe if Christian Whitehead is involved then we can say it's good news

@Knuckles-Fajita From the looks of it, not much seems to be changing. Sonic Team never really seemed to be a solidified developer and was just a part of a larger team, with the name primarily used for branding.

Doubt anyone would care once they find out it's not another 2d nostalgiafest.

It's not a good thing unless it's a sequel to Sonic Mania.

I'd still like to see another Sonic Collection that features, Sonic Adventure 1-2, Sonic Shuffle (seriously, does anyone remember that gem from the Dreamcast) and the PC Sonic titles. Would also be nice, granted if it's on Switch or others, Sonic and the black knight, sonic and the secret rings and sonic colors get re-released as a collection too. Other than that, love playing the sonic titles (granted the Sonic The Hedgehog game on PS3 and 360 was plain horrible due to bad camera angles and sloppy controls), and I'm looking forward to a new one!

@Kidfried With respect, no (but thanks for asking). Sonic's never really done remakes before. They work for reviving a dormant franchise (Ratchet & Clank, Crash Bandicoot, Spyro the Dragon, MediEvil) but there's literally zero point in remaking an old Sonic game right now.

Mania was fine as a one-off unoriginal backwards step to appease narrow-minded demands, but the reason Sonic's lasted this long is because he mixes things up and tries to provide something new with each core game. And sure, these new elements might not always work perfectly or prove popular with critics, but I appreciate the attempt (as do others; Sonic games always hit or exceed their sales estimates).

Something new, something modern, something that uses the power of the current generation of consoles and offers fresh gameplay opportunities; that's personally what I'd like to see, regardless of how it actually turns out.

People sure do Love to hate the game. What makes the games so bad? Sonic is about adventure and has a fantasy setting. Like if this was Mickey Mouse. Most of you would bend over. But you CANNOT make a game that involves "A Character that runs at the speed of sound to a goal as fast as possible" GOOD! Its all about the adventure. Not The Plot. Not The Color of His damn arms. THE DAMN ADVENTURE,
