At the time of writing, almost 50,000 Mortal Kombat 11 fans have pledged their name to a campaign petitioning for Scooby-Doo’s Shaggy to be added to the game. Apparently this is a meme, but being old men, we’re not sure we fully understand it. Nevertheless, that’s a lot of people and the number of signatures has increased by about 100 since we started writing this article. Jeepers!

Guest characters are pretty common to the MK franchise, and the game’s publisher Warner Bros does own the rights to the cartoon. We’re not sure he’s a great fit for the franchise’s grotesque violence, though, which is a shame because there's a good chance he may have been included if it wasn’t for those pesky kids!
