We haven't heard an awful lot about Far Cry 5 of late, so it's good to see a brand new trailer crop up ahead of its launch next month. This video focuses on the game's story, which sees a violent religious cult take over Hope County, with you helping to form a resistance and fight back against it.
The main antagonist Joseph Seed plays a prominent part in the trailer, and looks to fill the crazed, brutal shoes of past Far Cry villains nicely. As for the story itself, it's difficult to say whether it will delve into the subject matter it seems to raise, or if it will shy away from it.
In any case, have a watch of the trailer, and let us know your thoughts in the comments below.

Looks just like playing GTAV in first person. Last Far Cry game I played was FC3 so I'm looking forward to this one.
I still don't know if this will be on my purchase list. It just hasn't grabbed me yet. Its one of those that flicks between take or leave - certainly not a Day 1. Since Ubisoft took over from Crytek, the games have felt 'different' - I know that's from 2 onwards but I still prefer the first and now all the emphasis on 'co-op' doesn't interest me at all...
EDIT: I may get it - having just seen that Far Cry 3 classic edition is coming and 'free' with FC5 Season Pass....
Wasn't that keen on 4 but loved Primal may give it a miss at launch and get it cheap, but dam it does look good.
I'm interested.
Didn’t really like 4 much so I’ll probably give it a pass. I’ll see if I’m interested later
Looks good and I will buy because I always do with each Far Cry but I still wish they had gone with Far Cry Primal 2 or something but that's just me.
@BAMozzy Good idea. I've played all FC's and 3 is the best imo.
In fact I'm more excited to play the re-release of 3 than I am 5!
@Dodoo I loved the first, the second was OK but felt too much a departure and I wasn't keen on the 'malaria' and degenerating weapons either. 3 was OK, 4 and Primal didn't grab me at all and 5 was looking that way too. I am still not overly confident that the game will deliver and I will see if it works playing strictly solo - even if I can add AI to help. The DLC sounds interesting so I may get value from that - as well as the Far Cry 3 game.
All of this for £50 seems worth a punt and hopefully delivers enough interest to make it a worthwhile gamble.
@JoeBlogs Let's keep political views outta here. Thanks for understanding.
@BAMozzy Yeah agree with 2, was too much of a departure. I quite liked Primal, was refreshing there were no guns!
You're right in that £50 seems a good punt with 5 and I'll probably bite too. At least Ubi seem to have done a good job with the DLC as far as value goes, this looks like one of the best season passes ever imo...
Interesting! Consider me a potential buyer now that Yakuza is delayed
FC3 is my favorite to date. The remote island to explore, all of the wild animals, and an interesting cast of characters. It was, thankfully, everything FC2 was not.
With that said i wonder how Far Cry will translate in a continental US location? Montana is remote and sparsely populated but it is still the US.
Overall FC5 looks like a fun combination of FC3 & 4, Gta online, and Mafia 3.
I wasn't interested in Far 3-4, and I'll pass on this one as well, it's not a setting and story that appeals to me.
I enjoyed Far Cry Primal though, it was unique to me. It's a shame it didn't sell better, it might have led to some equally unique games.
