Sony's lifted the curtain on next month's PlayStation Plus games, and it's honestly not a bad selection -- at least as far as the current-gen platform is concerned. PlayStation 4 users get open world romp Just Cause 3 and Assassin's Creed: Freedom Cry -- that's the standalone expansion from Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag. That's pretty good, right? No pixel art in sight.
Meanwhile, PlayStation 3 loyalists nab, er, Super Motherload and Snake Ball. Vita fares a bit better with Downwell and Level 22. The former is also playable on PS4.

Loving this lineup I gotta say - really surprised to see Just Cause 3, and I'll happily give Freedom Cry a go as well! Love the look of Level 22 on Vita as well. Another very strong month - keep it up, Sony!

@Simon_Fitzgerald I only have Downwell. I actively wanted Just Cause, Freedom Cry, and Level 22. First time in ages this has happened.
People wanted AAA games, and they're getting AAA games. Although, honestly, Downwell sounds better than anything on PS4.
Still, if I resubscribe, I might give that Assassin's Creed game a shot, considering I've yet to ever play one (aside from trying out one on the Vita for a few minutes)

I forked out a whole £12 for the complete Just Cause 3 in their last big sale, so much damn fun! Never noticed any frame rate drops or slow downs on the Pro.. so its a miss from me this month as already have the AC Freedom Cry as well.

I'll be giving Just Cause 3 a go on the Pro, it's a bit of a shame we didn't actually get Black Flag rather than its dlc but a very good month all the same
Nice lineup. I've pondered Just Cause 3 for yonks but the reported framerate stability always put me off. I bet it's not even as bad as what everybody makes out anyway. Looking forward to playing Freedom Cry too, I always liked Adéwalé.
Can't say I am familiar with the Stand-alone Assassins Creed game - that one passed me by...
Glad I have a PS4 Pro for Just Cause 3 as that should at least help out the poor performance - even if it doesn't completely lock the game to a 'solid' 30fps, it will certainly make it more playable.
I got JC3 on sale ages ago and i never noticed any game breaking slow down or anything, absolutely loved it and happily played to completion.
Dont have AC so looking forward to that.

Two OWAAs in one month sounds like an unholy bargain and I'll be tempted to try both at least for a taste even if I still have poor odds of binging the respective franchises properly (most annoyingly, the first Just Cause is actually sold as a PS2 Classic... but only on PS3??? PS4 architecture must be a harsh mistress indeed). Downwell might be fun, but Level 22 piques more of my curiosity based on the trailers. Super Motherload could make for a good local multiplayer game on PS4... and looking at it, you could assume a cross-buy, but nnnnope. Oh well.

Delighted. I have wanted freedom cry for a while, but always held off buying it for some reason. As for just cause 3, I never bought it because allegedly its a technical mess. Here is going it's been fixed as it looks like a lot of fun. Downwell is pretty fun and very addictive. All in all a good month I think. Naturally, those on ps blog are complaining as always...
Been keeping an eye on just cause 3 for a while now. Glad I finally get to add it to my ever growing back log. At this point ps plus games never get played unless they are amazing (rocket league). Just got PSVR so there is another device to spread my time out. I wonder when they will start giving away VR games on plus?
Will be digging into both for sure. But unfortunately with the way my backlog still is it might be a while. Anyone know the length of Cry Freedom?

Great month for me I've none of the games. I've always been tempted with just cause on my pro as I here it runs a little better, also not tried an assassin creed since the first which I really didn't enjoy so hopefully it's come on a lot since then. Also always after vita games for my holiday got 2 weeks in the canaries the middle of August so a nice distraction from the wife and kids around the pool I hope.
Got both JC3 and AC so nothing for me on ps4 but happy for everyone else as they get some great games

Just Cause 3 btw I played approx 6 months ago and it ran perfectly well on normal ps4. I had no issues with the visuals at all.

For people questioning Just Cause 3 on a standard PS4, I bought it day one and it runs fine 50% of the time. Slideshow the other 50%.
Decent game once you get past the first hour. Even with the frame rate problems, I played to the end and enjoyed it.
Never felt the urge to install it again on the Pro to see if there was a difference.
Downwell is pretty good on the Vita.
The rest, I'm personally not fussed about.
Not that excited for JC3, but I'll give it a shot. I'm sure it's gonna run pretty badly, but oh well.
Nice! Already bought Freedom cry really cheap awhile ago but Just Cause 3 will do very nicely! Don't really think any of us can complain about the PS Plus games lately!

My main account is UK with plus, but I got a year plus on the HK store PLUS danganronpa ultra despair girls (in English) for just over 30 quid. Best deal ever - they always give away a full priced game with their ps plus subscriptions over there and they seem to get better plus games than us.

That's nice, but has anybody else had issues with staying connected to online stuff? It works fine for about 10 minute so then disconnects. I have to turn the internet off and back on every time. It's getting old
I already own Freedom Cry because I bought the Black Flag season pass, PSN still doesn't let me down load the game even though its a stand alone game. Let's see if this causes any issues. I'm betting that I still won't be able to download the game, I'm already looking forward to making a complaint.
