Santa hasn't even slipped down your chimney yet, and already we're talking about January 2017's free batch of PlayStation Plus goodies. That's because we're actually expecting an announcement of the Instant Game Collection lineup imminently – potentially before Christmas, but most likely in the days between the Big Day and the New Year.

So what could hit Sony's popular service? Well, new releases on 10th January – when the goodies are most likely to drop – include rhythm title Hatsune Miku: Project Diva Future Tone and acclaimed adventure game Night in the Woods. The latter actually seems like a strong candidate, assuming the platform holder plumps up for something brand new.

Personally, though, this author would love to see Gravity Rush Remastered make the grade. It's unlikely that the upcoming Gravity Rush 2 will receive much marketing spend, but putting the entirety of the original in front of millions of players should give the sandbox sequel the exposure that it needs to succeed. Plus, it would be a brilliant freebie.

But let us know what you're hoping for in the comments section below. Do you think that the structure of PlayStation Plus needs a change at all, with the PS3 and Vita titles becoming increasingly irrelevant over time? Let us know in the comments section below, and have yourself a very Merry Christmas won't you.
