Freedom Planet may not bear the moniker of a hyperactive hog, but GalaxyTrail's high-octane indie platformer is Sonic in everything but name. Let's look at its credentials: creepy furry characters, blistering action that would make even Blast Processing blush, and stages that look like… Well, Green Hill Zone. Oh, and it's coming to the PlayStation 4.
Well, technically this hasn't been announced yet, but it's earned its very own PlayStation.com page complete with flavour text, key art, and screenshots. Now, it's perfectly possible that someone on Sony's web team is trying to make a point, but more likely is that there's a port of this in the works – and you should probably expect it to be unveiled soon.

Sonic 3 and Knuckles is better then this for one key reason:
They never opened their mouths to talk.
The voices in this game are terrible and grate on your ears.
Great news wanted to get this on wii u but I will wait for the ps version now
Yes! Always wanted to give this a shot
@Xaessya Could not disagree more I loved the whole trailer can't wait to play it.
I've wanted this since I saw a review on youtube. I think it's been on Wii U for some time, but it's awesome that PS4 (& hopefully X1) owners get to play it too.
Great game, I got it on Wii U but never played much of it.
Still, what little I played was solid. Felt like a legit Sonic game.
I was seriously thinking of dusting off my Wii U and getting this too the other night. Now it looks like I won't have to.
let the rabid sonic fans come forth!
@Xaessya to be fair, I don't think they'll be speaking during gameplay
I hope there's ps vita version.
@Xaessya yes was gonna say the same looks neat cept the constant voice over
@ekreig there are 2 modes on the main menu. Voice and No voice. You're good.
haha oh hell yeah - always wanted to get this on wiiu - now im just gonna wait for the psversion - hopefully ist cross buy/save for vita ^^
Looks good!
Have this on Wii U. It's a fun game, and I definitely recommend it. There is a glitch that crashes you're game though. GalaxyTrail knows about it but I don't think they did anything about it on Wii U, hopefully this is fixed on PS4.
@ekreig Yes you can play the entire game without cutscenes. That's what I did.
Oh man I NEED this on the vita
Gameplay looks fun but the character design and voice acting sickens me to the very core. I can't cope with the furriness of the whole thing, I just can't. This is coming from a Sonic fan, but at least the character designs are better on that than they are on Freedom Planet.
Unfortunately it looks like they also replicated the 16 bit era field of view.
I don't see why people always make fun of the "blast processing" marketing term......the SNES had a great graphics chip, but it's CPU was like 3.5MHZ compared to the Mega Drives 7.5MHZ 68000.
The SNES could throw out a decent amount of colors, sprites, mode 7, and rotation......but it couldn't handle games like Streets of Rage 2, Alien Soldier, the Sonic series, most of the Genesis shooters, etc, without having massive amounts of slow down.
@Xaessya Well obviously they meant best "Sonic" game in the past 5 years, since Sonic Colors came out in 2010.
Sonic meets Megaman meets Gunstar Heroes.
This game looks fun.
